Okay, I got the update.

Apparently there was a need for a RAM upgrade on the server that necessitated bringing everything down.

Inserting RAM while running is bad.

We should be back up shortly.

Well.. yes!

Even on a home PC I wouldn't hot load RAM and i suspect there's a bit more to it to access the server.
Some racks require 'A' to be removed to access 'B'.

I understand though when you get that much traffic you that extra RAM. Also depending on the cluster of servers you run.

Thats right you can fry the RAM slots and would need a whole new board, that would a disaster fro Calgunners. Trust me!

Update - brief window to load db into ram. 4:23PM PDT. We need to do some brief Database Maintenance. Should be complete in approximately 10 minuets, however the forum may go completely offline briefly for a reboot of the entire cluster. Please stand by! -cgn admins.

It was up now back down. ???
