Very interested in your sig. How many rounds
Fired through it and hows the shape of the piece
Thanks

So far we have about 450 rounds through it.
I like Fiochhi best, seems to have a bit more oomph to it.
No jams, FTE or FTF with Fiochhi (hollow points) or the reloads I buy from my FFL (not sure who reloads them yet)

Winchester Whitebox we bought at the range had 2 FTE out of 30 rounds, this with only 50 rounds of Fiochi then going to the white box. Went back to Fiochhi HP and reloads (ball) and no more problems.

Just fired another box of Fiochhi HP through it Sunday and no problems.
Also 50 rounds of Wolf steel case .380 ACP (91 grain FMJ) with no problems.

Have yet to clean it, kinda wanting to see when it starts to act up due to being dirty.

If you are a 1911 fan you'll like this P238 as it seems to be just a smaller version of same gun.
I cannot speak to the polymer types, only the HD model but it handles well with great balance.
Points well, does not feel awkward or out of place.

The extra 5 oz may make a difference.
My FFL carries 1911 and says this HD is too heavy for a backup for him, prefers the polymer.

Wife plans to carry this critter.
Planning to and saving quarters to get one for me.

Most ranges ought to have 1 or 2 of these for rent which is how we decided on the purchase.

As an aside, we also rented the Walther P22, a semi auto .22LR, another great little gun I want.
It runs about $300 dollars and would be a super gun to teach new folks how to handle semi autos.

I thought the HD was a steel frame and the two-tone is alloy (aluminum). I handled both at a gun shop a couple days ago. Sweet little guns. Want one for ccw.
[/quo]

Oops you're correct.
The HD is a stainless steel frame and weighs in about 5 ounces more than the other models.

I can make up .org T-shirts in that time.

The 'servicing' part doesn't sound right:)
Have to come up with something less provocative.

Rifles / SoCom .458 mags?
« on: November 24, 2015, 09:47:32 AM »
Need a SoCom .458 floor plate stamped .458 to build a magazine other than .223 or 5.56 for 10 round mag compliance.

Any idea where to get one?

Turkey has been supporting terrorism for a long time, not surprised.
But, but, they're our allies.

 :o

Seems I remember Bill Clinton promising Ukraine that we'd protect them too.
That didn't work out the way Ukraine thought he meant it.

We'll do nothing for Turkey except maybe add a red line somewhere in the rhetoric.

Hmmm, a spelling correction created another post?

Handguns / Sig P238
« on: November 24, 2015, 09:28:29 AM »
Wife needed a new gun (who am I to argue?) so we went to range renting and shooting.
Several times.
She really like the Sig P238 as did I since it resembles the 1911.

So ordered the HD and it was right at $800 out the door, ordered 2 additional 6 round mags and 500 rounds of .380
The HD is about 5 ounces heavier than the others as its Aluminum frame rather than polymer.
http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p238-hd.aspx

Gun arrived, we waited patiently for 11 days.
Received gun and went to range, she loves it, shoots it well, handles it well.
It does not like the Winchester White box nor the Partizan, several FTF with each.
It does like the reloads my FFL sells and the Fiochhi hollow points.

Wife likes the gun and shoots it often so it was well worth the arm & leg price.

Problems she had with many semi autos was pulling back the slide. A double jointed thumb is weak and couldn't rack my 1911's, or Glocks.
She has a Beretta Tomcat .32 and a GP100 in .357 she qualified with her LTC.

Couple reviews here;

http://www.itstactical.com/warcom/firearms/choosing-a-firearm-and-concealed-carry-with-the-sig-sauer-p238/

Good purchase so far.
She likes and shoots it, about 500 rounds now.

Yeah somebody is going to attach that thing to a robot or make robot out of it, at least teach it to make sandwiches.

Yeah thats it, and make the legs a cold storage to hold six cans of beer, keeping it handy.

I've been getting this for the last 20 minutes or thereabouts.

The connection has timed ou
The server at www.calguns.net is taking too long to respond.

    *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
          moments.

    *   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
          connection.

    *   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Then I'll get on the home screen and it fails again.
Going to other sites works well.
