Quote from: Angie on November 12, 2008, 08:49:15 AMYeah I was thinking of the Marlin 1894 Cowboy in .357/.38splA .22 would be fun too. I just want something that I can shoot at the Firing Line, since I don't get to outdoor ranges where I can fire my rifles that often.I also want to do a 22 conversion on one of my AR-15s so I can shoot it there EVERYONE need a .22lr handgun and rifle, preferably multiples. That is all I shot except 20ga at Angeles yesterday. Not a single calgunner I knew was there And I know Ojisan lives real close, I don't have his number.

Quote from: Moonclip on November 12, 2008, 08:45:56 AMHow about a .22lr lever gun?I have a Browning BL-22.It has a really short stroke so you can cycle with just your fingers. No need to break your grip from the stock.
I challenged TANners that were not at BBQ to identify all the handguns in pic but no one rose to the challenge, lol!
[I have a 1911 in .22, a Ruger mkiii, and a 10-22. So far.

Quote from: Angie on November 12, 2008, 08:42:38 AMSo I've been thinking of picking up a lever-action rifle in a handgun caliber, maybe .357, any suggestions?Winchester 94. Do you have a revolver already? You'll need the set, .44 would be my preference. But, if you ever wanted to try cowboy shooting, youll need a caliber they had back then. .357 should work, Randall might know better. I got one in 30-30. Sweet little carbine.

I have a lot of cowboy stuff(I love cowgirls, lol) but I don't do cowboy action shooting but I am relatively certain it does not require your guns be chambered in calibers that were available in old west times.

I've got an old school H&R Sportsman, I think. It was my grandfather's carry pistol. 10 shots. Probably isn't worth $20. Nicely worn, but shoots just fine.

Are you gonna get an Ojisan 10/22 Thomspon look alike kit, lol!?I have 30 firearms chambered in .22lr, people on rinfirecentral.com probably sometimes have well over 100!

Which FFL are you going to use? How does a pistol PPT work?

I want a cheap bolt-action rifle sometime too. Just a little plinker.
Neat and not often seen gun. As smooth as a Henry? Let me see it eventually.

Looks just like my 1941 vintage example, I have an older one as well, lots of design changes with these. On the handgun pic thread on .net there is pics of the more modern NEF/H&R 999 version.
A botl action .22lr? Or what? And I'd get the lever gun in .357 mag then sice you are getting a GP100, cheaper ammo, less recoil, abilty to shoot .38spls in it. Winchester would be nice but will likely be expensive as mentioned. I'd go Marlin but if a decent Rossi/Puma shows up should be ok, I had an older bad example though.

Bolt action .22lr, especially if a sigle shot can be had dirt cheap if used, I see them under $100 commonly. I shot my chipmunk .22lr rifle a lot yesterday. It has a pic of a chipmunk holding a rifle on the receiver!
It's harder to be creative than I though it would be, in the story topic!
