Northern California Cold snap forces gun sales.
« on: November 28, 2015, 01:06:19 PM »
Northern California cold snap may cause private party gun sales to go up so people can pay their heating bill.

How to save money during the cold snap?

1.   Unplug deep freezer in garage and leave door open.
2.   Turn off auto ice maker and leave filled trays outside overnight.
3.   Scrap ice from ground, grind in blender and sell snow balls to kids in neighborhood.
4.   If your driveway is flat. Water in the evening, let it freeze, then charge neighborhood kids to ice skate.
5.   Buy ice skates at second hand store and rent them as kids enjoy #4 above.

I have been to Montana in the Winter.
It is a dry cold there.
Here in the Bay Area it is the dampness that cuts to the Bone ;D

Vacuum, dust, and re-arrange the furniture.  That'll keep you warm.  I have the heat turned off on the thermostat and I'm doing fine.

Gone from home over the holiday, come back to a 60degree house, 60DEGREES!!! Jebus, that's cold.

I put on my slippers and kicked the heater back on.

Whew! Catastrophe averted!

Meh, I am the king of the thermostat!  If you're cold, put on a sweater/sweatshirt.  That's what I do.

But I also leave the temp set at about 68 all the time.  My bill will stay under $100 a month through out the winter...probably down in the $80 range.

 :P
Don't do it, you'll be sorry...ah hell, go ahead and do it, it'll be funny.

Here in California we are screwed.  Atleast in other states they can rub two standard cap mags together to stay warm.

Chili, warms you twice. Once when you eat it and later it warms you in bed. ;)
