Off Topic Discussion / Want to speak to a mod
« on: October 10, 2009, 01:47:41 AM »
A mod decided they knew what I meant in a post without even asking me. So if that mod or someone higher would contact me via e-mail I would appreciate it.

I think my posting record speaks for itself. If I wanted to do what I was accused of I would have done it a long time ago.

The mod in question was WRONG. No if's and's or but's.

Rented COD3 last night. As soon as my son gets bored of the game we rented him I will let you know how that game is.

General Gun Discussion / Remington VS Winchester .22LR ammo
« on: November 23, 2008, 09:23:25 AM »
Has anyone noticed a difference between the Remington .22LR HP ammo and the Winchester .22LR ammo?

Not that I think there will be a dramatic difference nor will the rnd travel far enough for me to notice a difference. I was just curious what others preferences were.

I fully agree. I was in search of the elusive turkey fryer. Decided to stop at the ammo desk to ammo for a new purchase and waited ten minutes just to be helped. I guess those lower prices translate into a ten minute wait.

Server maintenance again -

Guess I will get some work done around the house for a change. Or maybe actually go shoot my guns instead of just posting about it! ;D

CGN is showing DB errors again.

I suspect Madonna. Actually rumor is that Guy Ritchie purchased the countless adopted rug rats they have toy guns from Toys-R-Us. She came home one night after a long pre-tour dance session of gyrations with half-clothed chiseled 20 somethings. She came back to Casa-De-Madonna to find the kids playing cops-n-robbers with Nerf guns while Guy was salivating watching Hannity and Colmes clips of Sarah Palin in the Sandbox handling M4's.

Madonna, not being one to share the spotlight decided to kick Guy to the curb and launch and DDoS attack using women of questionable morals and exceptional computer skills against all 2A proponents.

My frustration from the CG outages comes from seeing THR.us running smoothly while we are locked out. I don't mind helping them out, but let's not let CG slip to second fiddle. JMO

Rest assured that is not the plan.

We will be on a rather impressive array when all is said and done however the THR situation popped sooner then expected and the hardware is arriving later then expected.
My understanding is that each site will have their own server and DB server when finished.

kes,

What fail-over S/W are you guys using or are you running a cluster?

Well I washed the Suburban, my daughters car, mowed the lawn trimmed bushes, did a service call, dealt with the mother-in-law. Now it's cocktail and dinner time!

Yeah - Kest posted the info up but I don't think a whole lot of people noticed.

It does kind of blend in with everything else up there. Plus, when I log on I typically am already programmed where to look and up there is not one of those places.

Kestryll maybe bold, larger and red font would work at the top where you posted the IP.

A lot of people complaining awfully load for something that's free. Why don't you donate $50 to Geovario/Kestryll and then complain.

Why don't you mind your own business. :P  I really wasn't complaining, just mentioning my frustration.  I also mentioned that I appreciated what Kestryll is doing.

Also, I don't need to be told to donate money or hold my comments; which is essentially what you are saying.  You do not know my financial condition or anything about me, so why would you attack me.

Yes, Patience is a virtue. All will come in time.

Thanks Jacques, I appreciate that little gem also.

Retired,

Have you tried accessing CGN via the ip address as opposed to the DNS (Domain name)? If not try...

http://64.151.69.37/calgunforum/index.php

I have had much better results with that.

Server Move and Outage Reports / Re: Post upgrade blues
« on: October 16, 2008, 11:03:20 AM »

Okay, accessing via IP works...

http://64.151.69.37/calgunforum/index.php

Yeah...the only way I can get on is via IP. Which means DNS is AFU.

26
Folks, try this to help your PC resolve the new address:
START -> RUN... -> type "cmd" in the text field -> in the dos screen type "ipconfig /flushdns"
Then try to reload CALGUNS

Satex..

I tried flushing cache and it didn't work. I guess Pacbell hasn't gotten the changes yet.

27
How long does change take  :'(  (waits impatiently but still waits for the new CALGUNS :P)

DNS changes can take as long as 24 hours to fully propagate.
