I like the caliber and many of the guns that chamber it. If you have them, list them. I got rid of my only example recently, I need to fix that.
-
Not into C&R - But will start with my first here soon. A French MAS 44.

Yeah I was semi jealous on that acqusition you made. Any other weapons you have or want from that era? I know you want a S&W bodyguard like in that famous Saigon photo, lol.
-
I would like to start picking things up - but finances is the issue for now - That S&W would be neat - Happen to know which model it is?

It would have to be a nickeled model 49 or 38, the stainless model 649 did not come out until 1985.
Weird weapons turned up in Vietnam.
My dads friend captured a P38 off a dead NVA officer after an ambush.

That picture of the event was in 68 - what models were out at that time?

The mod 49 and the mod 38 airweight as I mentioned.

I have to do some more research - My father was a friend of the late general - He passed away not too long ago here in the states.

You need a MAS 36 now as well! Maybe a MAC 50 or other French pistol too, will be hard to find though.
I thought that pic and what the Saigon chief of police did was cool. Sat Cong!

Do you know the story behind that?

Most of it. I suppose we should start a different thread on Vietnam era C&R. I doubt many or any 7x57's were used there!
Though in the early days the Viet Minh and VC had some weird arms at times.
