Was hoping to see a relatively painless (for those involved in pulling the levers and pushing the buttons) transition, but I am not surprised at any delay considering the age of the otherwise excellent v-Bulletin software.
Rest assured! that after these current issues are resolved, there remains a future switch to a newer forum software interface... and in my experience as a user, none have been any improvement in appearance. On the contrary, all newer discussion board forum software interfacial renditions look like something designed to be used by preschool children.
I credit this to attempts by designers to reduce the quantity of data that needs to be transmitted with every page refresh or whatever they call it. IOW, visual "quality" seems to deteriorate due to these "requirements". I can think of no other explanation!
Now, I'd LOVE to be proved wrong after CGN gets it's new suit of clothes. I certainly would. The fact that I've seen rumored (see what I did, there?) a desire to continue to use any v-Bulletin product gives me hope.
