That's what I'd figured - I'll stick with looking for an original in 7.5 -

Found me a MAS 49/56 been converted to .308 - Read it's not reliable - SOmeone shed some light on it for me please.

From what I have read on these, it's a crap shoot. If the conv. was done right then you are GTG if not then you're eating crow. (Even though I've heard some Asians like eating crow.) Also all the collector value is gone if it has been conv.

I have one.
Mediocre shooters at best.
The gun is too tall.
Glocks sit lower in your hand which make them a better shooter.
Custom 1911's and CZ's sit even lower which is why they naturally shoot so good.

Skip the M9 and get a CZ75.
