I have seen people sink $1000 in to a 10/22 or a Anchutz .  Now that I think about it, I don't think I have ever spent more than $200 on a .22lr rifle either.

I have $800 in my 10-22 including the scope, mount, barrel, stock, action and internal triggerjob parts.

Are the full on Volquartsen build worth the money?  I like the laminated stocks and all....

Can you give us a break down of parts?

I put a $30 dollar scope on a $130 Mossberg Plinkster.  I can knock all those steel gophers down at 100 yards.  Thats with the cheapo .22 ammo from Wally world.

What ammo do you use for your matches?

Adam at freakshow is gonna start doing a group buy or gonna start offering AK pistols. hes looking for a way to make them single shot, wich will just be a single shot ak magazines and just a mag lock , which is awsome he says he is gonna try and get them for under $400 , I think with that some red krinkov furniture and krinkov muzzle break il be set !

Do you have a link to that?

I need a plinkster or an old Mossberg with the fold down fore grip.  I think Randlal uses the expensive Lapua or Eley stuff.  Eley primed ammo like eley and Aguila smells bad.

How come?  Ammo costs?  My 1st was a "ring of fire" POS .25acp.

Its easier to develop a flinch, and harder to work out, in a bigger caliber.

double star

heres the break down he gave me

lower = $99
lpk =$49
BB=$24
buffer tube assembly = $39
installation of complete lower = $20

shipping 10-15$

You can't slap on a regular upper with a complete gas system as it will not be a single shot...
Also, the sled is missing from the prices above.

he will supply the sled, then when the dros is up he will give us a shipping number so we will ship the sled back to him so it will be reused in another CA buyer pistol

What scope is on it?  I just came up on a nice Leupold to replace the Nikon on my Savage.  Mostly because the eye relief is better.  Once deer season is over, I'm hoping to rework the rifle...  Swap out scopes, have Randall do the cheek piece...  I don't know if I should get a better stock first, though.  Its got the el cheapo flimsy (yet nicely lightweight) gray plastic one.  Randall???

I have a nikko or nikon sterlin, Im kinda double thinking about the whole cheeck riser thing, maybe il just buy oneof those "slip on" cheeck rizers with teh pad and the built in ammo holder, where you can puch maybe 4 or 5 rounds on teh side of the butstock with that kevlar looking material
