The pull is fairly light, but there is definately some travel before it lets go.

That's called creep.

Someone on .net mentioned wanting to take trades of a SIG or a S&W for his Taurus 85 ultra light which made me LMFAO but he mentiond later he will throw in $.  I even like Taurus a little.  I have sen stranger things happen though, a guy sold me a S&W 442-1 for $150 once and used money to buy a PA63!  ???

Some guy on .net from Illinois or Indiana, can't remember, claims children in Mexico are commonly bought and sold as sex slaves ::)

People on .net too worked up over the 10% firearms thread and the flag avatar thread.  Mine is the best avatar there anyways :D

Randall, is there a benefit to using two pairs of rings on a scope?  One of the shooters I was studying had a Savage with 4 individual scop rings on it...

Only for a crappy scope.
There's more chance of damaging the scope if the rings don't all match.
You would really need to ream/lap all those rings to be sure they were exactly equal.

With good quality rings lapped with the rings clamped to the rail, the scope won't move around or get damaged by the rings.

So, do you lap or ream your rings?  Is it worth the extra effort?  Does it have to be done on a mill or lathe?

I don't want/can't afford a better gun.  Its shoots straighter than I ever could.  I have access to/bought a Remington 700 in 7mm magnum.  My dad hunts with that one.

Just buying the most expensive pieces and paying somebody to put them together doesn't improve me as a shooter at all.  It might improve my results, but thats it.

I have a real pervey friend I call a creep all the time!

I plan on calling Frijolito soon so he can not answer the phone and flake out on our possible .30-30 shopping and lunch trip.

No one has taken me up on my turkey dinner offer yet.

Lapping bar or a reamer.
Do you value your scope?
No, both are done by hand.

The lapping bar is much cheaper than a reamer.

I have never shot a match or reloaded more than a cursory amount of ammo in my life.  I suppose I should start somewhere eventually.  I hunted for 1st time recently.

I have never shot a match

Can you aim a gun and hit a target?
If so, you have the required skills.

As for equipment:
Eye and ear protection
Handgun
Holster
Belt
Magazines & mag pouches to hold 30+ rounds on your belt (back pockets work too)
200 rounds of pistol ammo

Shotgun
50 rounds of shotshells
Some method to carry about 10-15 shotshells

I can set you up with shotgun shell carriers.

JUST DO IT...

1pm.

yes, I can't afford to purchase a similar scope, so it is irreplaceable.  Do you offer a lapping/reaming service?  I've been meaning to purchase a better stock for you to do the cheek piece when I put on the new scope.

I have a 30mm lapping bar, but I have not made a 1" lapping bar yet.
If you need it done, I can do it while you are up getting the stock work done.

Too short of notice and I will be too busy sleeping or looking for more guns to buy I can just shoot at a crappy indoor range w/o really testing my skill with them much and then throwing them back in a safe for 5 years or more w/o shooting them ::) ;D

Maybe I will clean my house or motorcycle or guns today, guns most likely, other stuff, not a chance :D

It'll be a while, but yeah, its a 1 inch tube.  Should I just buy new rings, too?  I have some cheapies I bought at a gun show for 15 or 20 bucks I think.

If I see SPF with the price removed on another .net sale thread I think my head will explode.  I hate that crap.  I like to see the price even if sold for my own idea on what guns sell for locally.

I have another good vid for you Ross I will send soon.  I am about to call Lil Bean as well, see if he flakes or makes excuses.

I get ticked when they don't change the original post.

I search for an item for sale.  Find a bunch, then spend hour after hour reading through posts only to find that the dang thing was sold already...

SPF or sold with sale price left unedited is fine with me.  I am currently going thru drama with this on .net, some random dude just Pm'd me about it, a misunderstanding it seems.

And I was correct, Senor Flake Frijol will not answer the telephono, he might make it to my ignore list on .net,lol!

And after all I have done for that boy...

okay guys, I ordered up some red, pink, and white duracoat for the AK...  Man, I'm a bit worried about this project...  I am not the artistic type in any way, shape, or form.  I've been looking at all of the different ways guys are doing their duracoat jobs.  I've got lots of ideas, and some ways I'm going to try and pull it all together.

I'm going to base it off of the pink AR.

I've noticed that this rifle is pink.  With a few highlites of white.  Not an overpowering combination, and then even fewer red bits.  The color is then broken up with a few simple designs, the flowers and one detailed image of Hello Kitty.  I'm going to look for some Hibiscus stencils, but any other girlie type ideas would be nice, too, so don't be afraid to share.

Lil Bean, where did you get that AK sling you didn't like?

I need a cheap one to practice on.  I want to bleach one and try dying it pink or red.  I've got extra buckles and snaps that I'm going to duracoat as well.

Went back to the gun show today - Another good day - Chatted with Oaklander for a bit -

Sorensen - Those mags are for a different model - I didn't investigate so don't know if they'll fit - The vendor didn't know either - I'd even asked around to see if anyone have knowledge - But nope - Thanks for the heads up anyways.
