Great idea.  Y'know, I hadn't thought of that.  But, why not 80% built parties?  Amongst us gun enthusiasts, we probably know enough people with machine tools to get together and roll our own from 80% lowers indefinitely.  We need to find some guys with the expertise to start this, then the rest of us with a bit of machine tool experience  can spread the knowledge--just like the AK building got going.

I cannot see under the rear sight so I don't know. It does have a few drawbacks, there is a crack in the stock and a name engraved in the bolt. There is no sling or cleaning kit. Included are a 5rnd and a 15rnd mag and a box of win ammo.

Sorry, I think he's lying to you.  You can see the serial number on every Carbine I've ever looked at and that's all you need to determine who made it and when.  Assume it's a commercial copy and he doesn't want to admit it; probably a Universal because it's always assumed they don't work well (mine worked fine when I had it years ago).  Be prepared to pay or walk according to that.

I have been known  to be handy with metal working so I am going to give it a shot, I am saving up right now for a 80% jig and a few blanks.
