Don't feed the frenzy you guys - Between all of us, we should be able to do 80% lowers if needed -

Great idea.  Y'know, I hadn't thought of that.  But, why not 80% built parties?  Amongst us gun enthusiasts, we probably know enough people with machine tools to get together and roll our own from 80% lowers indefinitely.  We need to find some guys with the expertise to start this, then the rest of us with a bit of machine tool experience  can spread the knowledge--just like the AK building got going.

Actually, at one point I used to do that.  But, I was working under the assumption that the build group would go to where the equipment was already set up and working.

I know at least 4 guys with lathes  and/or mills in their garage.  I sold my machine tools  and sheet metal tools years ago.

ETA:  haven't you mentioned taking shop classes at night in a High School just so you could use the equipment?

Randall, how was Iron Sights??  I got caught up at work, stupid bedbugs.

Busy as heck.
We could barely get a lane.
I think there was a line of people waiting for lanes to open up.
PPT'd my new 22 and then we shot for a couple hours.
Moonclip's 22 mag rifle is all zeroed now.

So you smell good before you go get all sweaty again.

Showers at night is a MUST if you sleep with a lady.  AM showers, if you shower at night, is optional if you dont need a wake-r-upper splash to start your day.  I shower at night, and splash my face in the am.

AM showers wake you up, and you smell fresh for the ladies

I do both.  One at night, one in the morning, and one usually between getting home from work and eating dinner.

I like to be all clean and comfy when I go to bed.

I like to be all clean and good smelling when I go to work.

I like to be all clean and comfy after sweating my arse off all day at work...

+1 Ross. When i get outta work, I shower up. Then if I am just chillin, not bustin a sweat, I take a rinse, and may soap up again if needed.  I would rather sleep the extra 10 minutes in the am and just splash my face with H2o

Run don't walk - And stop looking at it trying to convince yourself that is's a deal -

What do you guys think, comes 1 5rnd mag and 1 15rnd rebuild kit

What is it: civilians or military?  Who made it?  That can be the difference between 'wow, great deal' and 'so what, they're easy to find' at the price you told us.

this is what he says

First up is my m1 carbine I bought it 12yrs ago and was told it was a bring back, the great guys over at surplusrifleforums belive that it is probably a commercial version made possibly by universal. I cannot see under the rear sight so I don't know. It does have a few drawbacks, there is a crack in the stock and a name engraved in the bolt. There is no sling or cleaning kit. Included are a 5rnd and a 15rnd mag and a box of win ammo.

Sorry, I think he's lying to you.  You can see the serial number on every Carbine I've ever looked at and that's all you need to determine who made it and when.  Assume it's a commercial copy and he doesn't want to admit it; probably a Universal because it's always assumed they don't work well (mine worked fine when I had it years ago).  Be prepared to pay or walk according to that.

Your right, I think im just gonna walk away from this one , there will be other down the road that where actually military issued
