Let em fail.  Toyota will buy them all, kick out UAW and turn a profit.

I agree.
The unions hold back US industrialism by feeding their own coffers.
Of course it's great to have a union job, but the costs for the company are so high that it makes doing business the union-way un-realistic if you want to compete in a worldwide economy.

When all the $30/hr jobs go away, people will be willing to work for $15/hr.

and thats where implementing a hefty import tax would help resolve that problem

I say it is pretty smart on the pirates part, hijacking a oil tanker. No one in their right mind in going to just blow it up. Too much money lost and the world hippies will never stop crying about the oil slick left.

Do you really think the Somali's care what the hippies think?
They would do it just to prove that they are serious.

Perhaps somewhat, but it's better to be more streamlined here too.

No they don't care but we will never hear the end of it on America news channels.

I agree 100% I just don't think they are going to be able too
too many pro union politicians

Perhaps somewhat, but it's better to be more streamlined here too.

Unions suck....unless you are in one, then they rule.  Overall for the economy I think they are bad.  They encourage businesses to start production in china, pakistan, etc. for cheap labor.
LOL

They were great back before we had labor laws to protect workers
now they are just drains on the company finances

It is better to be more streamlined here, however, a tax for no reason is not going to fly in the world economy (besides we already do that to all imports). What would fly is if we are going to import crap from other countries, they must meet the same environmental standards, minimum wage standards, and human rights agenda we do.

If they do not. It is a no go. Don't think our businesses will go out of business if we can not produce anything in China. We stop producing and importing from them, the Chinese go under and we flourish.

Who else is going to pay for the corrupt politicians and mobsters? It is a viscious cycle.

In my situation my union steals from the rich and gives to the poor...
They are not all bad
