Today GeoVario is doing the first of several upgrades to the Calguns server to improve reliability and speed.

We should be back up shortly and when everythnig is done Calguns will be faster, more stable and better then ever.

Apparently things went so well on the server work today they are now working on the database server as well.
When all is said and done Calguns will be hosted on a rather unique and cutting server arrangement. I can't go too much in to it until everything is locked in but there will be no other forum hosted like it online.
At least until GeoVario's marketing takes hold.

A couple of interesting facts, Calguns is in the top 1000 online forums worldwide and averaging 28 hits per SECOND!

That's pretty impressive. 28 hits/sec is roughly 2.4 million hits per day.

Given the typical behavior of web sites, peak rate can be 3-10 times the
average or 84-280 hits/sec.

naaa..... vBullitin has been up for a while.. they only gave the 2 squirrels food.. they haven't installed the 3rd one yet.......

I found one of them just hanging out, not sharing in the workload...

The other one, well, it's a holiday and he's a democrat...

When the announcement came out that we were looking for a 3rd squirrel, we were overwhelmed and had to resort to a competition to choose the best candidate...

Here is the victor's final blow before he won the title as Calguns Squirrel #3...

They formed a union.
