Looks like the last post in here was 2/4/12. Since we are in the great Calguns.Net outage of 2015 I thought I would turn the lights on in here...
Anyone else in the room???
-
Thanks for turning the lights on. I wish you would have started dusting though.
-
Leave the dust, this is the C&R forum!
Wouldnt mind a time machine trip back to 2/4/12
Cash n Carry C&Rs , no COE, no long gun registration, cheap mosins, cheap spam cans, SSEs, mag kits, all the cheap 22 you could ever want
Gaaa!

Barney, did you break the forum?

Barney, did you break the forum?
TRAP55, looks I did a bang up job... ;D
-
Great, I finally get 5 minutes to check the forum and read a PM, and it's down cause you broke it! >:(
From the facebook page, it looks like the database is intact, but everything that can access it, is toast. That's going to put a hurt on someone's Xmas funds.

*pokes head around corner*
How's everybody doin'?
-
Ha I finally made it in! It's so lonely in the C&R room, just the echo I hear from saying "hello!"
I hope they are able to get everything back up and running soon. It will be a long Thanksgiving weekend with no Calguns.
-
Found .org this AM but had to go to Cardiac Rehab in Carson City, snowing in Tahoe, roads are a MESS and there 1000's of people coming into town. Sunday will be the cheapest entertainment in town watching the traffic cameras and everybody trying to leave at once, can't wait til Monday!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all that make it over here!!!!!
-
Guess I can play/work the bolts on both my mosins just to pass the time.
-
The .org is definitely a Curio and a Relic
-
I need to thoroughly clean some rifles so this should be a good weekend to catch up on that and some reloading.

Does she work pro bono?

Her elbows are pointed down, tan not even, would not bang.

I need .net!
Here is Yugo Ceremonial. Came covered with light coat of cosmo, appears brand new and unissued.

Hello gentlemen, I was going to wait for them to get .net up and running to ask this but it's seems like it might not happen soon. Soooo onto my question/problem
I just bought a Garand and took it out shooting yesterday. The first two clips that were pre loaded from the seller shot fine. It seemed like it was a bigger struggle to push the clip down into the rifle compared to all the YouTube videos I've seen, not sure if I should be concerned about that?
But the main thing is, after I loaded the clips with my ammo (ppv for the M1) the rifle was no longer charging the rounds. It would fire and eject, but would not load up the next round. I had to manually charge it after almost every single round. Can anyone give me some info on what might be wrong? Did I load the rounds into the clip incorrectly? It was a bittersweet day since I've always longed for a Garand and found a good one with all Springfield parts, but it not firing right was sad indeed :-\

almost impossible to diagnose without more info.
-you disassembled, cleaned and lubed the rifle properly? google this
-you're using USGI clips?

Here's my latest C&R. I doubt there's another one in the Country.

Before that one, I picked up these:

I haven't taken it apart and cleaned it, the seller said it was good to go so I just took it out. Yeah they are usgi. I thought it might have been the way I was loading the ammo into the clip but after checking YouTube in pretty sure I did it correctly

I would field strip the Garand and replace the op rod spring with one from GarandGear or Orion7 (same spring from both vendors). Thoroughly clean and grease it and try again. Don't use too much grease, if you can see it, it's too much.
What enbloc clips are you using? Some are known to have problems.

What is that? Enlighten me please!

I know what it is. Hint: it's not a firearm, CSA posted it in the .net forum.

They are both stamped "CMP 3"
The thing is, the first 16 rounds that were pre loaded by the seller all fired without incident. Is it possible I messed something up when I loaded the rounds into the clip and then the clip into the rifle?

the CMP clips are for sure the ones the seller pre-loaded? they have a mixed reputation.
when loading clips, I put 7 cartridges in and then rock them up and down while pushing them in to fully seat. the case heads should be touching the rearmost part of the clip. and I always arrange so the top round is on the right.

Is that an air rifle?
Nice cuff links, do you have any ammo for them?

I know what it is. Hint: it's not a firearm, CSA posted it in the .net forum.
I assume from the construction it is some type of antique air rifle, but I'd still like to know what it is, and how it is charged.

Yes, those are the only two I have. I'll do a field strip clean/lube and take it out to the range on Monday and see how it reacts

It's a welbey and scott service rifle (MKI) with acid etched writing. Only the first 500 or so of the 1500 made had acid etching and there are only three known to exist with all acid etching present. Mine has most of the writing present and could bring over $2000 at auction in the UK. I'm betting that it is the only one in the states.
Yes, there is a capsule of ammo for the 2mm pinfires is in the picture.
