On .org, he's got two in one thread and a third post in another thread which are truncated, including the post immediately before that one.

It looks like what I run into all the time.  If you have a character which doesn't jibe well with this site, the site truncates your post from immediately preceding that letter.  You have to go back and replace that letter.

A prime example is an apostrophe which is slanted, either from a quote you're trying to paste or from, I assume, a smart phone you're using to make the post.  The System doesn't 'recognize' or 'accept' that apostrophe and, therefore, cuts off the post at that point.

I'm not declaring that's what it is, but seems the most likely explanation given that his last three posts have been truncated.  If that is the case, however, it becomes the user's responsibility and not necessarily a 'fault' with the System.  Short version: Adapt to the System because the System isn't going to adapt to you.

i have forgotten about this. i think this is what happened to his "modified" post.

His post transitioned

i don't mind "folks" when spoken by conservatives. liberals? it's their way of saying "red neck gun-toting bible thumper toothless yokels! i'm glad i don't have to hear that communist community organizer from kenya anymore!

Obama is a POS, calling people folks in his stupid voice.

There was some TV show about whales or something, as soon as the narrator started speaking I said "IS THAT OBAMA!??" it sounded like his stupid voice and I was instantly angry. I looked at the information and it was indeed narrated by obutthole the idiot. No way I am going to listen to that prick.

Who is this "you" you speak of?

Is he talking to you? Or me? Or someone with bouncing boobies?

Good question!  I don't have bouncing boobies so if he meant someone with them its not me.  Perhaps he is a young lad and doesn't know how things work yet?

Its worth to know though, every time I come on here most times I'm the only one on, of the members of course.  Sometimes 2 or 3 will be on.  So is it kinda like a tree falling in the forest, to shout "You"?

I smited him. He's got to know how it works around here.

SpaceX has gone NORDO about tonight's launch. SD619 will have the latest news when he sees it fly over his head.

Unfortunately, we have cloud cover... can't see a single star. No rocket for me today! At least Trump won, so I can't complain!

45
Liftoff from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) is scheduled during a four-hour launch window that opens at 7:26 p.m. PST (10:26 p.m. EST 0326 UTC). SpaceX did not specify a targeted launch time, but the CelesTrak website said SpaceX had provided it with launch times stating the first opportunity occurs at 9:25:30 p.m. PST (12:25:30 a.m. EST, 0525:30 UTC).

46
Where is the update!!! Dang it!! The SpaceX site still shows 7:26 and no video

47
When is it going to launch? No stream?

every time libs use bluesky or joy what they really feel inside is cloud over their house everyday or sorrow/pain for hearing opposition to their views. oh! and trump makes them poop and ready to explode in diarrhea everyday.

Liberals are fundamentally unhappy people because they are atheists and have no source of joy in life except for their debauchery. Life for them is meaningless and miserable except for the times when they take drugs and stick stuff in their butts.

I got on .net about 30 minutes ago and was able to open 1 thread followed by 504's. On Wed. afternoon, I was able to get on for over an hour without a glitch. I hated to log out. That was the 1st time in 3 days that I was able to log on. I had enough, I'm going to bluesky.com to complain about the world with all the leftist mental midgets. Naw, just kidding.

LOL! From what I've read, bluesky is like DU but worse. It sounds like all the mental defects from the left gather there, like reddit but even more censored and insane.

It is similar to caguns the reddit fake gay version of calguns.

I watched the other one you posted about the curve in nature.  That was too dry for me.  Then the video following it (selected by YouTube algorithm) was more interesting to me.  It was by the same guy, but investigating why Amelia Earhart went missing.

The video went into details about her radio equipment and how misuse and/or malfunction could have contributed to her losing her way over the Pacific Ocean.  There were extensive information on how she transmitted or attempted to transmit information but was never received.  My question is how do we know what she transmitted if this transmission was never received by the outside world and we never found her plane?

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. If the information was never received, then how do we know it was transmitted?

Are the temperatures a concern because it is too cold?

Mars and the moon have much less gravity than the earth.  The orbital velocity required is much lower.  As such, the gravitational acceleration should be much lower as well.  In that case, there is less speed to burn off before landing.

Hmm... but it will still have to reach earth's escape velocity to get out of orbit, so it would have to use rockets to slow down no matter what. I guess it will just carry enough fuel for that. Why don't they just explode some nukes and use it as thrust https://www.nasa.gov/space-technology-mission-directorate/tdm/space-nuclear-propulsion/

It was up for a few hours today, that was fun! It seems to be down again.

Elon Musk is a hero, he is making reefs for the fish!

57
The starship uses the atmosphere for a lot of its braking on earth but the moon has no atmosphere and Mars has a very thin atmosphere. Will it use the engines to slow down?

Can it carry enough fuel to slow down and take off again? Will it refuel in orbit?

No clue... I just dropped by to let y'all know I'm still around.

I don't care much for the "other" forum, I can't really put my finger on it as to why, I just don't.

its like going to party with a bunch of snobs and they watch everything you say waiting to call you out on something.  Gotta watch your P's and Q's so as not to offend someone.  Thats the vibe I get reading that site.

Yep.  It's more about 'controlling' the timbre of the site beyond what we've become used to with .net.  Early on, someone described it as being full of 'woke' people and I think that's (sort of) true; i.e., many of their members aren't coming from .net, but from Reddit.  They're not really interested in 'conversation' or 'discussion.'  It's more about quickie posts which say little to nothing.  From what I'm getting through the posts being left here, if anything faintly provocative is posted, it is 'edited' or 'deleted' or similar.  Again, frankly, I don't know how one discusses or even talks about 'guns' in California without being provocative in some measure.

It's just like ONE thread was allowed regarding the Election and you were allowed ONE sentence per post.  Gimme a break.  No.  We didn't necessarily need a bunch of TDS (all variants) or negative posts about Democrats; but, it came across as tantamount to those "I Voted" stickers they hand out at the polls.  Oh boy.  How stimulating.

The sense I get is that were you to order a martini, shaken, not stirred with this crowd, you'd be labeled a misogynist, a brute, a Neanderthal, etc. for alluding to such an 'unwoke' character (at least it used to be).  I'm sorry.  While I don't indulge in the crudity and find a lot of it unseemly in many respects, I'm a big boy and can simply 'turn the channel' rather than demand everyone adhere to my, personal standards or set the site standards to Victorian Era.  (Which is interesting in that it demands much more moderation to maintain that level than what the owner over there wants to commit to.)

Oh well.  I'm not a member over there and don't intend to be.  Unless things change, at least a bit, I don't foresee that site 'replacing' .net in terms of a resource for information.

Good summary of the mentality over there. Bunch of sensitive reddit types. Liberals are so weak.

59
How deep is the water where these are landing? There must be a ton of boosters and things all over the ocean from all the launches we humans have done over the decades.

They have no OT section because they are too sensitive, and they said no talking about politics. What a bunch of snowflakes.
