FBI pick.
« on: December 01, 2024, 09:26:56 PM »
Huge controversy again.
Trump simply testing the Senatorial waters for loyalty?
Like he did with Gaetz
Will he drop out as well? Then select another almost on the threshold?

I think he simply wants the most right wing that the Senate will tolerate.

Like Gaetz, I think Kash would be excellent. Hopefully he gets confirmed.

Unfortunately Patel already let the cat out of the bag.  He wants to "shut down the FBI".  That's going to stir the swamp creature pot in the Senate (RINOS), who won't confirm him, and they'll be exposed for what they are.  I think that's the reason Trump picked Patel.  He's not going go be FBI director, Trump's trolling for swamp creatures.

Kash didn't say he wants to break it up, but he did say he wants to spread it around outside of DC. No more centralization of power.

So spread the swampy FBI around and make it ooze everywhere?  There will always be a centralized HQ for it in DC at the J. Edgar Hoover building (oh, the Irony of it being named after him) (facepalm emoji)

Turn the Hoover building into a migrant halfway house. Send the swampers to the four corners of the country. El Centro, El Paso, Detroit and St. Mogadishu.

I've always understood that the FBI was the investigative branch except in certain situations and the U.S. Marshall's were enforcers/arresting agency.

I probably "understood" incorrectly or as usual "things" morphed over time.

Hope the new "Sheriff" in town squares things away...in all sectors.

I really don't think the government should have the authority to 'investigate' any of it's citizens to begin with.  That's why people like J. Edgar Hoover had so much power, in some respects he had more power than the POTUS's he served under.  That's why he was the head of the FBI from 1935 to 1972, he had dirt on everyone and that's what kept him in as the head of the FBI.
