Rifle barrels have to be 16" or over regardless of caliber.

You just load 10 rounds into the body and measure where the follower sits.
Drill a hole at the bottom edge of the follower and put the rivet there.
Two dollars a mag to drill/rivet.
You gotta bring the ammo.

Claim Jumper used to have a deal where they charged for kids meals by the weight of the child, now discontinued it seems.  Their BBQ sauce is ok, I'd bring some if I was not banned from BBQ's ;)

The waitress at Claim Jumper spilled a bowl of oatmeal on my sister before.

The free root beer candies(are you reading this lil bean!) are good too.

Shop/machine time is $1 a minute, 20 minute minimum.
Do all the prep work yourself including marking where the holes get drilled and cleaning up the steel where you want the welds.
Then come over.
That will minimize your expense.

Even a smoothbore .22lr rifle?  Probably.

It's not a rifle if it does not have rifling.
You are probably speaking of the savage/marlin garden gun, which is technically a 22 caliber shotgun.

Other makers of these guns as well, one is for sale on .net currently.  I want to shoot a solid .22lr bullet out of one to see how terrible the accuracy would be.

That looks like some Dillon footage.
Dillon has some land out in the middle of the desert where he does strafing run demonstrations from his Huey or one of his little birds.
