Did it rain on your parade?

Both mornings I awoke to rain on the tent.
Saturday, we got rained on pretty good at the 22 sniper match, but I still managed to win.

Looks like you didn't let the weather slow you down.
:) Thank you Sir, may I have another ;)

My neice and sis.  Kaitlyn was pooped

Ross. Now thats the money shot! Gecko=good times!

We used to camp at Gecko when I was a kid.
This was back in the early 80's.
The dune's just are not what they used to be.
There used to be HUGE bowls.
Now there's too many people and not enough time for the dunes to recover between weekends.
I went a couple years ago and all the good hills were gone or torn up.

Without the parking, we could probably whip out quite a few of these in a weekend. As long as there is a tig welder available, and somebody that knows how to use it.

So anyway, I got the Benelli, I want to shoot it this weekend. I have never owned a shot gun. What kind of ammo should I buy for it?

I have a tig welder and know how to use it.
Buy 3 3/4 dram ammo for the Benelli.
They sometimes won't run on 3 1/4 dram.

I think the 00 or 01 is what they use for the 3-gun.

Most 3gun will use #6, #7.5 or #8.
Occaisionally, there will be some buckshot required and I recommend 12ball for those stages.
You will also need slugs.
Get the reduced recoil variety.

Good night as well, I am out of here too I think.  There is that Benelli, the M3 that has pump and auto functions.

Neat idea.
Does neither well though.

Nobody serious uses an M3.

totally different.  It has an electrode that you use to strike an arc with on hand, and then fill with a rod with your other hand.  The ones I've seen control the heat with a foot pedal.

Good tig welders strike an arc without contact via high frequency.
Scratch-Arc and Lift-Arc are how lower end machines start.

Hey Randall, do you own a Randall made knife?

Too rich for my blood.
I'll get one someday though, just because it would be cool.

I am off to go play Dora the explorer thru the forest. I don't think I am going to make the BBQ. I will report back if I find anything interesting or kill some yummy mountain chickens.

I think Dora may be illegal and dates her cousin :D  Mountain chicken?

Mountain chicken is another name for mountain quail. It's the largest of the 3 main species of quail in CA.

Dove is tasty, I'd like to try pheasant and quail.. There is/was a prarie chicken, but I think they are or about extinct.  They are mentioned in the Little House on the Prairie books.

That's when I called him, he said he was in the bathroom or he had to go to the bathroom. I guess people get forgetful after they touch themselves. :)

Only thing I touched was my anus, too much salsa and tapatio.

Here's the forum that got closed, California Precision Rifle Club. Kes has warned those clowns multiple times but I guess some people just don't listen. ;) Sounds familiar.

Saw that last night,Randall will be sad.  I didn not cruise that forum much, how bad was it?  Worse than TAN?

I don't really like SA 1911's.  Also I have a simlar gun as mentioned.  Actually, 2 of my great uncles were pimps(interesting story or two there), one was a cop.

thanks for the tips guys, for somereason i though GI meant miltary use or something lol , looks like il skip on that, what about garands ? what do you guys think of these , serial number and everything

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?p=1657350#post1657350

Sevice Grade from CMP is $595.  My sevice grade rifles looked almost new.  A little bluing wear, that was it.  I'd wait to get my C+R and spend a little extra money.  But, those are great prices compared to what others are selling them locally for.

Rack and Field grade are a bit more worn, and can be had from CMP for $450-$500

like actual 1911's used in WWII ?

no, they just have rifles.  I was talking about the Garands.

AFAIK, CMP has never and will never release handguns to the public, under Clinton IIRC a lot of these guns were destroyed.
