Won't happen - 95% of small bus. will go under - Cost will jump sky high - We can barely do it now at the min. wage -
Minimum wage was never supposed to be a living wage - It's for first timer and young adults - If you have to depend on a job at Chuck E. Cheese to support your family, you are in big time trouble.

These are campaign promises which will be broken as soon as they get to office -

Look at Arnold - He's in the same boat as the guy he took the job from - Actually, worse -

Saigon, I heard one of Obama's priorities is to double the minimum wage in his first 100 days.

CA's minimum wage is already higher than the national minimum wage.  Do you know the numbers?

Our's is at 8/hr - The nation is still at 6.55-7.25 - Right now some states are only at 6.15 per hour.

For $12-14/hr, I think I'd find a minimum wage night clerk job at a motel.  Its hard to pass on money like that.  But, you're right, business owners would riot.  Guys like me that really don't make a lot of money, $14/hr part time is good money.

okay, so I've got 4 lowers on order, and I'm going to pick up a 10/22.  I can go start my DROS now right?  The dealer doesn't need actual serial numbers to start a DROS, right?  I realize that some FFL's might require it, but does the ATF require the S/N's???????????

That's the big issue - Guys like you would take away those jobs meant for first timers, highschoolers, ect. -

Minimum wage in San Francisco is will be 9.79 this January - Even thought it's high - You can't expect to have a family with this money -

I believe you can - Am not sure on the pertinent though - It also will depend on your FFL -

raising minimum wage puts a hurting on me.  In particular...  Low price houses.  You'll find two or three or more families in one house, maybe 5 to 8 people making minimum wage.  Those people together can afford a $350k house, while I can only afford a $250k house.  It prices me right out of the market.... again!

Have you thought about just renting and socking away money - I don't think it's a bad idea - Really, lets think about it - Mortgage on 250 with 20% down at 6% will be 1200 month not including taxes and insurance - I don;t know how much rent is in your area -

HOA rules won't let me rent this house.  I've been considering buying a house just to rent it out until this one is sold...  But, too many variables in a situation like that.  I just can't stretch myself so thin....

I finally read that CPRC thread - Man, what a bunch of pansies - Making us look like Saints (well our kind of Saints).

I noticed that also.

What up? Does not look good for McCain so far.  :'(

Ross, if the lowers were shipped by an FFL to your FFL I think they had to exchange paper work, so your FFL should have the SN, if he asked for it. I wanted to start DROS on the Glock I am buying, but I can't because it is brand new and my FFL doesn't know the SN. He had already ordered it before I bought it from him.  So it can go both ways.

If I could sell....  I'd be living with my pops.  He doesn't want rent money, but I know I'll give him at least $500/month.

I'd be willing to let this place go for what I owe +10% to cover cost of sale.  That would be about 75-80 grand.  The loan for a new place is already approved, I just want out.  Honestly though, the trailer is listed at $120k, and any offer over $100k gets it, no questions asked.
