both unfired
the marlin was from the late 50's and in mint shape

I traded an old car that I had about 400 bucks into

I have an early 1960's Marlin 336 in .35 rem.  Frijolito wants a .30-30 for his dad maybe. I have a Win 94 from like 1971.  I got my neighbor a 1952 made one but drilled for a peep sight for $150otd recently.

Yes Jason, but a lot of ex Nazi and a lot of Ameircan weapons were alos used by the French.  M1carbines and such were popular with the French Foreign Legion.  My dads friend captured a P38 from a dead NVA officer after an ambush.

My Win is nice though.  I have a .357mag Win 94 also and a Rossi lever gun in .44mag

The ones on MAS36's are like that too,cruciform type like on Chinese SKS and Type 56 AK.  The French knitting needle!  It supposedly makes a worse wound prone to infection and hard to treat and is easier to withdrawl from a body than a blade bayonet.
