alright enough of the drama already

What do you guys think about the saiga rifles?
Originally I was thinking I wanted an sks but you can get the saigas in .308 right?

Viras has a scoped x51.  Pretty decent rifle if you ask me, he seems to enjoy it.  Mine is x39, and I love it.  There are lots of mods for it, which I really like.

Flavors of Saigas are .223/7.62x39 and .308 - I don't have any and they are on my long list to get -

Would you wan to convert it over to pistol grip?

No I dont think Id want to go the pistol grip route
If I keep it the normal stock I could keep the mags detachable right?

I prefer the non pistol grip method, but because it came with plastic furniture, I had to switch over to wood.

The bike belongs to a "biker" that my friend got due to some money owe - Bike is not original, been worked on massaged and upgraded. It's just a dream of mine, since I am small frame also.

For you, OK, but you're a long ways away.
Lots of mods to the bike may mean you need a true mechanic gear-head type, not just a parts changer.
If mods are done right, can be no problem.
Hopefully the guy who worked on this bike is not the same guy who worked on my car...LOL

Yes - When I am ready one of these days, will probably get something much newer due to maintenance issue.

how do you get a saiga to look like a AK? i know about the whole pistol grip but in order for the gas tube to look like it how ? just buy a new gas tube and front handguard ?

Now I looked at the pic and I am just jealous now. Next build will have one of those. I have a PRS on my 16" now I am going to put on my bench rifle and put a standard stock with MMG on my 16". I already have everything, just need to do it. I will have a U15 stock I will probably sell for cheap.

You don't need to modify the gas tube at all.

Dinzag sells the hardware.  He sells a replacement gas tube with the rings on it, and a bolt on lower handguard retainer.

When I was thinking I would convert my Saiga, the first thing I bought was one of his Muzzle breaks. I sold that though. I do have a RH threaded AK74 style break though I do not need that I was going to use on my VZ58. I don't know what to do with it.

That CMMG upper on the FS thread looks pretty tempting.
