So the entire .NET site is down now and has been for many days. Is it actually taking that long to reload the entire site?

I was hoping it was just me.

maybe it's just taking longer because they're putting in the pool or sauna?

Well a salt water pool with plam trees will take longer. Plus you have to let the concrete cure before you can fill it .
With our luck the contractors hit toxic butt stuff waste when digging.

This is the latest from the support staff doing the update and migration.

Just to keep you up to date - the upgrade from vB3 to vB6 is still running.  The database structure in vB6 is completely different to that in vB3 so all of your post and thread data has to be rewritten to the newer format which, on a forum of your size, can take some time.

Once the database conversion is complete we will then get it migrated into the vB Cloud site and let you know when that's completed.

Don't forget all the "patches" that have been done over the years to make CGN work.  It probably take a huge amount of work just to make the data base  work in its new environment.  I think we will be in CGO for a long time

I didn't figure it would be instantaneous; but, we'll see how long they drag things out and what comes up... and what doesn't.

As I've said, there are likely to be 'problems' which show up no matter what you do or how hard you work at it.  On top of that, just the fact that many who've made it here don't even seem to know why the main site is currently down is likely indicative of the mindset you're up against from members.

So... Thanks for the update and the effort.
