Partial connection and loading front page!
-
Really? I can't even get Ping to resolve the IP of calguns.net anymore
-
The page was partial and missing the defining lines as well as the icons for the advertisers.
It's a start. I still have it in a tab an afraid to refresh. I like seeing it there.
-
Another attempt and it's gone. DAMNIT
-
I'm actually getting ping replies now, but no dice on getting the page to load.
-
I wonder if all of us refreshing the .net site is making it take longer

You sure it just wasn't a partial load from your browser cache?
-
I don't this it was because I clear cache, cookies, and history every time I close my browser. It's a pita, but, it is one of my few compulsions. I could also ping he site at the same time. When I checked again after I made my posts, I could no longer ping the server and got the connection timed out messages. I had checked the site many times since it went down and that was the only time out of 20-30 times I tried over te last few days.
-
I can't even ping it anymore. Seems like every time it starts showing signs of life, it completely dies again.
I really hope that when it goes back online, Kestryll downloads the database and moves it elsewhere. They claim that a "bug" rendered all the backups useless. Must be a really, really advanced bug to be able to jump out of the computers and start messing with the offline tape backups.

That was one of my wife's Wedding Vows.

Believe me, after 5 days, I'm starting to get pretty used to it. I understand it might be a cost thing, so I'll tell you what, I'm already an annual contributor to CGN, but if you pull the database when it comes back online, and move it to a new server, I'll pay for a lifetime CGN membership. That's a promise you can hold me to.

I have not been able to log on for days. Have a deal underway and cannot access pms. PITA
-
Home page is up and gave me false hope.
-
What I get when trying to connect to the mothership is:
Fatal error: Memcache is not installed in [path]/includes/class_datastore.php on line 186
-
^ same here. Closer!
-
Yeah, the front page is loading and then it goes to s**t
-
Lol, I see the front page. I click to enter the forum and get a error message. This is progress. At this rate I figure about another week and we'll have our Calguns.net back. This post should be worth a "smite"... ;D

I can still see the site I have a tab from the 19th at 10:55 am. I don't have the guts to click on it.

Still... ::)

Has there been any information on the reason for the site loss? Is this sabotage or IT or infrastructure failure?

The IT equivalent of SHTF.
Most likely a datacenter cooling system failure... one of the few things that could cause so many simultaneous failures.

Or lack of payment.

I'd like to think I had a voice in the recent server move, but I know I didn't ;D

I haven't been able to get into the new server this afternoon...anyone else having problems?

Works fine for me. It can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to propogate throughout the internet, so it's not unusual for some people to see it while others can't. Give it til tomorrow.

will do
