OK Dan what did you do this time ??

You all know what heinous crime I was accused of.

But it seems that HoffmanG nor SFV_Dealer wernt  accused of the same with their versions of the Bullet Button.

Well if any of you guys want to reach me im available at MAG-LOCK(AT)Safe-Mail.net and or SemiAutoSam(AT)Safe-Mail.net .

As Usual replace the (AT) with the @ Symbol .

I agree.  It was more fun when SAS was around.

Ah the specter of SAB resurfaces.  Not surprisingly, he didn't fail to advertise for his unique and original mag lock design ::)  At least he is consistent.

Damn it Ohsmily, where have you been?

There were some other forums that needed a spellchecker.  ;)
He can only pull grammanazi and spellinazi on so many forums at once.

I really don't know what all the fuss with SAS stealing a bullet button design is all about.

I think I can clearly claim to be one of the first to post a design about the concept.  I posted this picture in a thread back in Jan-Feb of 06 (the file date of the picture is 1/28/06) and specifically stated I was donating it to the public domain since I lacked the where-with-all to produce it.  Back then the idea of a bullet button was considered to "gray" and even folks like bwise frowned upon the idea.  Unfortunately that thread seems to have been deleted.  (Maybe Kestryll can find it if there is a special place where deleted threads go) It was one of my earliest posts to CGN.net.  This picture has been posted at the photo host site that is linked since then as well (http://www.majhost.com/gallery/drclark1/MISC/cal-legal_mag_catch.jpg).

I would consider any BB design that is a derivation of the above design to be public domain at this point.  The B15 design is truly unique.

It wasn't an AR-15 mag lock.

He used images posted by someone else of their FAL lock design and said they were his.

I think I can clearly claim to be one of the first to post a design about the concept.  I posted this picture in a thread back in Jan-Feb of 06

There was a guy selling 80% AR lowers back in 2003 or 2004 at the Costa Mesa gun show.
He was selling them with a shortened mag catch and two buttons that were sectioned in half.
The rear button still had threads and fit down into the reciever.
The front button got retained into the reciever with two setscrews, one from above and one from below.
He was demonstrating the release using a round of 223 ammo and had a whole page written up showing how it was legal to build such an AR as it would not be considered a detatchable mag per the wording of the law.
This was WELL before the 2005 gold rush to buy AR recievers.

I wish I could find that piece of paper because THAT guy really deserves the credit for bullet buttons as we know them now.

Agree that there probably were more "mechanics" doing things and not posted on the interwebz.
