We did not BBQ. Just ordered Pizza. I got a cake (one of the big ones) at Costco. Everything is gone.

There was only a little beer left. The keg was floating.

You did it easy then - No mess in the end -

So far I am down at the store in the mall by 10% vs. last year - I was running higher than that in November (25% down)

I do have some hope that it will not be that bad this Xmas for business - But the outlook is quite bleak for everyone - Unemployment is going up -

My bro in law work for Sysco - 1st time ever the company will be closed down for 4 days at end of year -

I see Obama putting the what I hope are the right people in place to change the way things are for the economy -

I think the Feds will bailout the auto industry here very soon -

What are you guy's thoughts -

I think it will depend on the decisions that are made by the new administration and congress. Because right now, nothing is happening.

They seem to want to bail out the auto industry. In California, we live in a bubble. People here don't realize how bad this affects people in other states. It is devastating. They can blame whomever they want, but it doesn't get people their jobs back.

I belive the right people are being picked, but they can not do anything right now.

This is going to be a waiting game. Next month, we will see how fast they act.

There has to be sweeping changes to undo what has been done in the last 8-years. It is going to hurt though. There is a lot of speculation going on, but I do not think the trickle down has really hit home yet. It has been stalled, but I have a feeling it is coming.

That is a bummer about the X-mas party. Sorry that happened.

the worst is yet to come I feel - It will be better but how many will not be able to wait - The calls from lenders have slowed down - Now loss mitigation is wanting to talk -

I've asked my parents to move in with Steph and I to save some money - It's nice to have the folks around - We've rented out their house -

My percentage of credit card sales used to be about 30% of total sales - Now it's up to 75% sometimes and average at about 65%

Hey, Ho!
Whatcha know?

Sai: my metal supplier laid of 25 workers a week ago.
Some were deadwood so no real loss.
Some were skilled hard workers and that is a loss (yes, there is a list of "who to call first" for rehire).
We will see but could be me next. ( I do earn my keep, so there's that...).

For a lot of "Change", there sure are a lot of old faces.
We will have to wait and see.
Hillary as Sec of State? I watched Condoleeza speak on a show today, she really is brilliant. Hillary isn't that smart.

Some Congress members would be delighted to see the Auto industry die, for reasons unknown.
There is some genuine animosity here to say the least.
If this industry fails, then the USA will be on the way down bigtime and maybe forever.
However, Chrysler was bailed out way back when  and it worked out.
There is a huge risk in having whole industries die.
Chrysler makes tanks, armored vehicles, etc.
If no Chrysler, will we buy Leopard  2s from the Germans or what? Nobody else makes the Abrams.
Same thing with Colt firearms, yes squeeze and sue to gun makers almost to death was the plan, but in the end the capability for domestic production of weapons means this (gun) industry here in the USA would not  be allowed to die.
I think we have to help the Big 3 (2 remaining?) along...too much to loose is at stake.

What? Nordyke decided then for sure? Or did I miss something?
Or that's just the name of an excuse for a get together and has nothing to do with guns etc. : ))

I agree Oji - Too much is at staked even to let them go into BK - Really, who wants to buy a BK product not knowing if there will be support down the road -

Condo is much better than Hillary -

The Congress thing is what I feel people trying to punish others - ultimately they will not let the auto ind. fail -

Sai: I will go look at your SKS pics.
I put a scope (cheapo4 x) on my SKS last week and got it sighted in today.
Hard to zero it quick without a spotter for sure!
I was setting it one inch high at 50 yards for starters.
I only had binoclears , no spotting scope, so that's wht the 50 yard sight in.
I used Wolf lead core ammo. Two different RO's came over and checked my ammo for steel core / jacket.
They must check everyone with a SKS or AK.

Speaking of AKs, there were two guys shooting a new-looking Romanian AK next to me. It had a maglock, and 10 rounders, so somebody got them dialed in. One of the guys looked kinda like a pirate. The other was wearing this mostly-red but also white and blue "FRANCE" rugby jumpsuit. He had a matching hat and stuff. But these guys never spoke any French, they were speaking some wierd Euro (?) language I have not heard before.
I think they were terrorists. But legal ones, since they had 10 rounders and mag locks...

Oji - You're killing me man - LOL

Why didn't you try to make friends with them?

Here in our area - Chabot shooting range let you do sighting in on the 25 yrd. - Sweet -

Now why can't you use steel at Angeles - Fire?

I can't use steel or FMJ here in San Leandro - We're near an airport -

ASR doesn't want steel anything due to fire hazard.
But now that it has all burnt, who cares?

Maybe they were Serb or croat.

We can use steel core here. But I don't know how long that will fly for. It is amazing, with all the fires here, nobody has addressed it yet. There is dry brush all over the range.

I reset the Cable modem. It seems to have sped things up a little.

The thing about a company like GM going under is not just the employees that work for GM. There are thousands of vendors GM uses to buy parts from. And other companies that do work for them. It would have far reaching effects.

That's why we really need to bail them out - Again, who wants to buy a BK product -

I read about their "bank" employees ( I think that's what they're referred too as ) getting laid off and getting full 100% of their paychecks for sitting around in the union halls and diddle their thumbs all day -

I might not understand the full scope of things - But, WTF over -
