ETA for it's glorious grand reopening range from TWO WEEKS to SIX MONTHS.

There's another thread on the topic in a different sub; one of the two subforums listed at the top of the Index.

Meanwhile, it's OT bo0bs n' stuff.

I've been predicting 'problems' would emerge once the reboot is complete.

Just like Kestryll finding/remembering about his e-mail addresses (see update linked in previous post), I'm sure that there will be a few 'problems' which crop up with regard to the new version.

It's not a sign of incompetence, a lack of effort, or the death knell of the site.  It's just a predictable (and inevitable) outcome given all the different browsers/systems members use.  That's without mentioning that 'modern technology' is sold as making things easier and quicker; but, it tends to make it more complicated and time consuming in many ways.

I was saying that quite a while back on .net

The can just kept getting kicked down the road... little 'carrots on a stick' snippets every few weeks/months...

.org isn't gonna last either - cause it's garbage.

I'll say this... It's been handled pretty poorly thus far, but I've seen worse. At least the owner is providing updates and seems to now be trying to get his ducks in a row.

All that being said, I've yet to see a full site migration go 100%  smoothly. The ones that went mosy okay were because the people in charge had a fair amount of technical knowledge and were not shy about accepting help that was offered. This hasn't been that, from what I've seen.

There's still a chance it gets pulled off, but come mid-May, if it's up and running, it'll be glitch city if we're lucky. If it's not up and running by then, well.... This place isn't terrible.

You know the CalGuns interpretation of two weeks right?
I didn't use quotation around 2 weeks due to the forum issue there. Ugh.

.net is now working well enough for me but I just can't get behind the new forum look. It's horrible.

I did fiddle around with the "forum style" and managed to find something other than the gawdawful baby-blue-font-color-against-stark-white-background...

fiddled a bit w/ the forum "look".

Top right of any page, click username for a drop-down menu...

User Settings > Account > (fill in your email, repeat [every time you wish to try another forum style]) > Forum > scroll down to Themes then select different themes to see how they appear once Changes are Saved.

Through trial and error, the most-pleasant presentation for my tastes (and eyes) color-wise and for background is the Wood theme for it's green and brown effect. The Wood theme also softens the harsh white background. "Denim" is another but the forum index appears w/ a red font. No bueno.

The default and vB5 are the styles that have the CALGUNS logo appear - all the others display "vBulletin", but in a rope-look font western theme.

I am going to miss the avatars here. I might have to, in inimitable calguns' style, do BOTH!

;D

.net need a Dark like my soul mode.

It's like living in the Valley. .org was like going to the beach house for two weeks and then having to go back to .net and deal with dumbfucks all around.

Yeah I typed it.
