so my whole report was gonna be on reporting about the increase of childhood diabetes was a crisis partially brought on by video game consoles and soda.....having a hard time finding the "crisis" numbers....couple hundred thousand kids doesn't quite ring a bell as loud as a few million....

Probably true, kids rarely are outside playing these days it seems, rather do the Nintendo it seems or watch Spongebob.

I ate a crab cake Monday, it sucked.

it is true!  Its just the numbers and stats aren't as shocking....which is disapointing....big numbers look better on papers.....

its....idk just not as shocking with numbers.....percent tho looks better!  Like this:

Results:    The prevalence of type 2 diabetes was 1.8% (2/110) in 1996, and 11.0% (18/163) in 2002 (P = 0.008). Type 2 diabetes accounted for 12.5% (6/48) of incident cases of diabetes in the years 1997−1999, and 35.7% (10/28) of cases in the years 2000−2001, indicating a sharp rise in the incidence (P = 0.017) between the two periods. At diagnosis the mean age of the type 2 diabetes subjects was 15 years and the mean body mass index 34.6 kg/m2. Risk factors for cardiovascular disease were common in the subjects with type 2 diabetes: 85% had dyslipidaemia, 58% had increased albumin excretion rates and 28% had systolic hypertension.

Conclusions:   Obesity-related type 2 diabetes now accounts for a substantial proportion of newly recognized diabetes in the adolescent age group − and this proportion is escalating rapidly. Adverse cardiovascular risk factors are prevalent in this population. Public health measures to curtail the rise of obesity in childhood and adolescence are required urgently.

Diabetes is no joke, my friend died of renal failure from it.  My dad has it severely as well, injects insulin, possibly aggrivated by Agent Orange exposure.

I knew a girl that had the juvie diabetes, she would sometimes shoot up insulin I heard so she could have some cake!  Very dumb.

On another note, going thru old school papers, my sister found my DARE class completion certificate, lol.  Just say no...

I wish Coke would go back to the cane sugar.  It still is in Mexico.  It supposedly is just as bad for you as corn syrup though.

I like rum and Coke and only Coke will do, I should start buying Mexican Coke or Kosher Coke for them.

I bet I had a better weekend than you all, My mother in law decided to visit unexpecetly last friday, some would say that is a bad thing, but I love my mother in law. She told me and hubbly to leave for the weekend. So we went to Vegas! She got to deal with my teething twins for the weekend. It was nice.
