The racoon was trying to appear fair all the while discussing with others how to best censor the discussion without appearing to censor the discussion.
They are considering setting some sort of tag that would remove certain discussions from the main page recent post list, effectively ghosting the thread, you would need to already know it exists to find it.
I pointed out the issue and they proceeded to go into full rationalization mode.

The covid report only made up about 25% of the thread, at best.

Just for bringing up a newly released report on COVID on that other site!  He was trying to be so respectful to the rules over there, just trying to bring it up for discussion and gets jumped!  Soy #1 "I don't see the 2A tie in!"  Owner jumps in with "well in Asia they wear masks because of SAR and...." EM2 tries to respond from the report.  Soy #2 "So you're OK with threads with zero 2A relevance...."  1 other member tries to respond with his experience during COVID but the thread really becomes all about the owners rules and a suggestion on adding a feature on the site so only threads show up that one wants, who is being rude and who isn't and the owner freely opining on his views.  EM2 tried so hard but got jumped instead, even told by a admin "this is a 2A place if you don't like it go someplace else."  LMAO!! Of course this is only a synopsis/paraphrase but that other site is tyrannical with the owner riding herd. The thread made it up to 32 posts, doubt it goes further.   Should I post the link?   :D

Thanks for the summary.

I was testing the waters over there and they failed miserably.
Censorship seems to be the preferred mode of control rather than robust debate.
Also, it seems their feelings get hurt easily and they attribute disagreement to rudeness.
They frequently project their own reaction onto others, they thought I had thought others as being rude, which is not true, and I had to twice correct them on that specific point.

All in all it was an interesting exercise.

Off Topic Discussion / Re: Building a Contact List - UPDATED INFO
« on: December 03, 2024, 09:25:18 PM »
Good evening
So what's the plan?
I understand the list is for if we lose contact on both .org & .net.
Does that mean you hold it in trust until then?
Should all contributors receive a copy?
That's how our neighborhood watch list worked, everyone who added their name & number got a copy.

So, does the fact that very few are on this CGO site with their usual discussions say anything on where we are heading?

I have been reading more at CTH, American Thinker, and Reason.

You guys like famous quotes?

I stole this one from somewhere deep in the bowels of CG OT.

"Build a man a fire, keep him warm for a day. Set a man afire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life."

Don't feel bad, that quote has been misquoted many times over the years. I have heard several different versions but they get the point across.

Kyle

here's another butchered one; give a man a fish and he becomes dependent. give a man a fishing pole and he becomes independent. but yeah! smart people will know what i'm trying to say.  ;D

I can sum that quote up in four words...

DON'T FEED THE BEARS

 ;D

nice! good for you mr. X.

i was indoctrinated by the pravda once and believed what they spoon fed me. i forgot who introduced me to rush and some chrisitian programming that slowly undo the idiocy in me. then came michael savage and glenn beck that cemented my view in conservatism and never looked back.

I am a registered democrat.  I registered as a democrat when I became a citizen.  I believed all the propaganda they fed me at school.  I voted for Boxer and Clinton in 1992.  That was the first and last time I voted for any democrat in a general election.

I think what started me to question the democrat narrative was taxes.  I started to work in mid 1990s.  I am a numbers guy.  I am obsessed with numbers.  I saw my paycheck shrank by 40% before it even reached my hand.  That soured me to that whole progressive tax scheme.  Then I started to listen to Larry Elder on talk radio on my afternoon drives.  That completed the demolition of leftist values instilled on me by our indoctrination centers.

I am still registered as a democrat.  I find it to be convenient that the democrats would send me a list of issues to vote for (or against) come election time.  I normally would just vote against that list.  The list makes research easier too.

there was a saying "when you're young you are liberal. when you're older and do not become conservative then you'll be forever libs" (paraphrasing). i believe this is true when you reach a point in your life that you see things with maturity and better understanding of life.

dems low information voters don't want to grow up because they are so dependent on gub's freebies and align with their lifestyle of corruption. conservatives are more independent and free thinkers ........ and they work their butts off!  :)

Is this the quote you are looking for?

Ongoing tread celebrating freeing territory from terroristic evaders! You are so unimportant and you think world revolve around you and your feelings!

What if you discovered that the U.S.A. politicians & intelligence community were responsible for instigating this conflict, using it as a means to to steal from the public treasury while gaining power over others?

Fucks to give about the ukrainians and russians are all gone, only fucks left are for the commies and marxists within our own borders.

She espouses everything the Republicans stand for...

But if she takes the Oval Office, THEY will implement the exact opposite of everything she may have said tonight.

Who'd a thunk that the Biblical Antichrist would wind up being a woman? Amazing.

They already have.
She IS a part of the current Whitehouse.

I have never understood why any well-known mainstream company, actor, athlete, author, media company, etc, would expose their political bias.

It's been known in all those industries since the beginning of time to NEVER let anyone know where you stand politically...........until recently.  Now it's like they're learning the lesson all over again.  I guess they all skipped their marketing and public relations 101 classes.  It's like they're figuring out something that's been known for a hundred years like it's something new.

Those that ignore the lessons of history are destined to repeat it.

They have been infected with dumbass woke fucktard marketing college grads who don't know their there they're head from their butt.
