A little disapointed in Ruger :-(
« on: November 24, 2015, 10:39:08 PM »
So I went to place an order for a Ruger AR556 only to find out that the "California compliant" model does not come with Ruger's in-house designed flash suppressor.  Not only that, but the barrel isn't even threaded for a flash hider!

AAAARRGH!!

So now I need to get the barrel threaded.  Will threading the barrel mess up the crown?

Threading the barrel will not affect the crown.

I have threaded a bunch of those CA AR556's.
I didn't really enjoy taking showers with other men though I have done it
I move a lot...and drool....

Didn't want to wait and then have to have the barrel threaded, so I picked up another Anderson stripped lower, an Anderson complete 16" upper, and an Anderson build kit (Complete upper, LPK, and buffer, tube, and stock) and a couple of RRA 2 stage triggers all on Black Friday deals for just a little more than I would have paid for the Ruger and the extra work I would've put into it.

Also picked up a Millet DMS-1 1-4x24mm scope and an SWFA SSALT cantilever mount.  I'll post up picks and a range report as soon as I can :-)
