Handguns chambered in 7.62x25 Tokarev
« on: November 24, 2008, 01:44:34 AM »
Is there one that is readily available on the US market that is not a Tokarev pistol or a CZ52 pistol?  I really like this cartridge.  I wish a modern gun was chambered for it and available.  I like bottleneck pistol cartridges.

I have had poor luck with my Chinese Tokarevs I have owned in 9x19 and my CZ52's now like to lock the slides back with ammo still in the magazine for some reason  :(

I suppose the 7.63 Mauser catridge is similar too as is that 7.65 Luger cartridge that strangely Ruger offered a P89 in 9x19 with a extra barrel in this caliber was well at one time.

A 30 carbine blackhawk could probably be re-chambered.
Browning hi-powers and Ruger P85's were available in 30 luger.
I didn't really enjoy taking showers with other men though I have done it

Forgot about the BHP, Caligula on .net had a pair for sale at a very high price.

The .30carbine Blackhawk(don't you want one?) I feel suits my purposes best in the original chambering.  It seems revolvers and bottleneck cartridges don't mix well either.

I am going to pull an Ohsmiley on you :D  I believe only the P89 came with this option, in a version called the P89X IIRC with the extra .30 Luger barrel included.

Strangely the Israeli Air Force took delivery of some P85's though.

I have a P85 in stainles,, the P85 only came in stainless for one year before it became the P85MKII and then the P89.

J&G Sales and a few other places have 7.62x25 conversion barrels for 1911's for around $200.

Yeah, but hasn't the cheap surplus ammo all but dissappear?

Yes it has. Which is one of the reasons I've sold my CZ-52
