SHOWER GUN OPTIONS?
« on: August 02, 2024, 10:23:28 AM »
Waterproof is one thing, humidityproof is another.

Anybody tackle this one before?  I've got a cheap S&W Shield that is perfect for this, but I don't need it getting corroded.  Just needs to be as quickly accessible and ready-to-use as possible in case we ever get a home invasion while I'm in the shower.  I could swap in a cheap revolver too.  I don't live in California so CA-specific rules don't apply and I have no minors that either live nor visit my home (plus I could lock up access to the master suite when there are visitors anyway)

So what y'all got for suggestions?

Just the same gun I carried all day before shower. I obviously don't shampoo it, but leave it next to the shower booth.

A fishing spear gun.

Just in case it's land-sharks doing the home invasion.

But seriously, okay just semi-seriously, you might have shampoo in your eyes so you better go with a shotgun. With all the moisture and water you probably want a pump shotgun and you don't want to waste your granddad's Remington 870 so I'm thinking one of those "marine grade" / silver cerakoted Mossberg 500s but make sure to upgrade to plastic/polymer for the foregrip and stock. Hang it high up in the shower, in one of those rust prohibiting plastic bags, with the internals covered with some quality anti moisture rust prohibiting, protecting gun oil

And don't bother going with a pistol grip, because accuracy suffers at a greater rate than most shooters would estimate.

Besides,
think of what will be going through the minds of any bad guys when you burst out of the shower Rockin and Rolling your shotgun!

Since you're in the shower, you have unlimited ammunition.
