Restoring Remington 1100... Questions
« on: October 13, 2008, 11:59:14 AM »
I have a Remington 1100 12g. that is showing its age. I thought about getting a new one but then it hit me... Just restore it! I love the way it shoots and can consistently hit 24 out of 25 or better so I don't want to affect how it shoots.

My questions...

- Where is a good place in California (Orange County preferred) to get the receiver/barrel blued?
- How much would the bluing generally cost?
- When rebluing a barrel what precautions should be taken as to not damage the inside?
- Does anyone know what one should expect to spend on a nice set of Umberger wood, or something similar?

Thanks in advance!

I know Bolsa Gunsmithing can probably do the bluing but I'd want to see an example of their work on Remingtons 1st.
