Announcements and Suggestions / Re: Reopening Part Duex
« Last post by TheGood on September 08, 2024, 06:51:44 PM »
I don't know if this helps or just comes across as another irritant...

I was just on .NET and it was an interesting experience.  I posted a reply to the Paul Harrell thread and had to open a second tab to see that it posted since the original didn't go anyplace.  It posted, but the thread didn't bump up.  I then posted a new thread, again, I believe in the original tab and it didn't go anywhere either; but, looking in the 2nd tab, it had posted and was at the top of the OT threads.  (Both threads were in OT.)  So, two different tabs, two entirely different performances from the site.

I had something similar happen.  One tab allowed me to navigate OT with no problems, a second tab was asking me to login with no access to OT until I did.

.NET is getting more strange, it's fast briefly and then long periods of 'Gateway Timeout' errors.  There's something seriously wrong, it's either under attack, hacked from within, database problems, or all of the above.  :o

Ethiopian contract k98k:
Bought from rti a while back as a project to fix up, but its beyond my pay grade. The bore that they listed as "good" (lol) does have fairly strong rifling, but is badly pitted at the muzzle and needs counterboring. For the stock, the wood behind the recoil lug was badly damaged, and a fix has been attempted with metal epoxy, but how well itll hold up to repeated firing is questionable. Id recommend a spare stock for shooting. Includes a custom hardwood case eith bayonet, cleaning kit, and a couple surplus ammo pouches. 500 obo can sell for less if box is excluded https://imgur.com/a/k98-XgNuIM6

Deutche werke ortgies
Beautiful little pocket pistol, bore has light pitting but is otherwise good and shoots straight. Has been reblued at some point. Great little gun i just don't shoot .32 often so it kinda just sits in the safe. Includes hardwood case with three magazines, one original, two reproductions  https://imgur.com/a/y1REnYv $350 obo

Springfield XD
4inch barrel, includes two mags, good shooter my interests have just veered more into surplus so I'm selling it off  $350 obo https://imgur.com/a/xd-9xIPWCx

Open to trades, especially other milsurp arms or ammo, will consider shipping.

Thank you! Appreciate the info.

My ongoing concern with this particular stock is the barrel channel. I think I'm going to return it. Worried that modifying the already slender channel for this enormous 28" bull barrel simply wouldn't leave sufficient material to properly support it and the action. The barrel looks absurdly huge when (crudely) positioned beside the sporter/featherweight stock:

Seemed okay for a few hours, then started timing out again.
Very frustrating.
This is the only forum that seems to have these problems (at least that I know of)

Off Topic Discussion / Re: Boeing Starliner or CGN, which will be down longer?
« Last post by TheGood on September 07, 2024, 04:01:59 PM »
How many days was Starliner stranded?  94 or sumting?  Can we beat that?

93 days, 13 hours, 10 minutes, and 16 seconds  :D

Crew still stranded, too, and they were only supposed to be there for 11 Days IIRC.

At least the hatch didn't pop out or the booster didn't explode on launch...
