Has vbulletin hosted a site with this much traffic before? It's starting to have issues, I am sure they are aware.

I take it that they either view it as "go woke, go broke" or they are using consumers as the guinea pigs to work out the kinks.

Either way, it's a demonstration that the production/sales side isn't ready for prime time when it comes to EV's.  That's without noting the sheer lack of infrastructure to support them.  (I can't think of a single, publicly available charging station in this neck of the woods.)

I guess I'd have to assume they just figure it as the cost of transition. . . The Hidden Costs of Transitioning to Electric Vehicles - https://www.government-fleet.com/10210702/the-hidden-costs-of-transitioning-to-electric-vehicles

Lack of demand is also a huge issue. Real men don't want stupid e-cars.

I was considering the aqualink but after reading, it seemed like parking on Friday wouldn't be a problem, and the boat crowding might be a problem, so I just found a spot about two blocks north of the main entrance, $30 to park.

I walked to every part of the track, every stand, looking for the best spot. I ended up near the end of the straight for part of it, then walked down to turn 11 at stands 24 and 25 and got a good view of the cars slowing down. There were also some good views (where I took the Trump car picture) at stands 16 and 18 at turn 10.

The paddock pass was cool, with the discount code I got ticket and pass for like 30 bucks. I thought it was worth it though I only took one walk through the paddocks to look at the cars.

I walked on the track because between races, they would open up a few paths to walk across the track instead of going up and over on the stairs. That crossing was at the entrance to pit lane, so I took a few pics down the track and pit lane.

Going on Friday was great, I could walk everywhere, enjoyed a cigar, and then I stopped to see Ape Drums on the way out, which was a lot better than I expected. I stood at the very front and the bass was so strong it was like wind blowing. The crowd was nice, families and stuff up there not a bunch of drunk people looking for trouble. It was a great day!!!!!!!! I think you posted the discount codes right? Thank you for the info, without your post I would have forgotten about LBGP until it was too late to go, like every year past.

OMG.  My old user is no longer valid.  Had to create another one.  This new site seems to be missing a lot of data and sub forums when compared to the old site.  So sad.  LB

Which "new site" are you referring to?
.org? If so, .org is not new (it was created in 2006) and nothing from .net was ever to be migrated over to it, nor replace .net. .org has always simply been a barebones rendezvous spot to get updates and such with minimal forums when/if .net ever had a temporary outtage.

I think I understand now...

They believe this site, calguns.org, is the upgraded calguns website. Even if that were true, all they have to do is look at the avatars and all of their sadness will go away.

I have a 2017 Grand Sport (C7) - as I advise the Missus, the best way for entry is to sit down and swing the legs in. Egress is similar - swing the legs out and rise. Don't know about other Gens, but the C7 has memory seats - once I turn off the Engine and open the door, the DS Seat slides back.  The Pass Seat is almost always in it's rear most position.

My first car was 1970 Opel GT (German-built C3 "mini 'vette"), so I have long had an affinity for that style. Subsequent Gens din't interest me until the C7. Not much interested in the C8, either.

Rotsa Ruck, G.I.!

You had an Opel? Cool car, I've only seen one that I can recall, driving around the street races in the early 2000s.

I think I fit in better with mountain and/or farmer/rancher white people more than beach white people. Maybe that is what it was. These are just silly generalizations, of course.

Italian food is my favorite, followed by steak and potatoes, burgers and fries, then messican food. I like southern comfort food, too, but find it to be messier to make. I do not like frying indoors.

I'm with you there. Beach white people are usually out of touch with reality. Kooky. I am an ocean white person not a beach white person. I like fishing and diving, the kids these days like drugs and walking around looking at their phones. Oh and now they ride bikes all over the place.

You have been here in N. Utah or Idaho?
I made an Italian sausage sub with Provolone.

Unfortunately, I have not. Sounds lovely though! Sandwich sounds good, too! :)

Jeffs' Beach Burgers - next time you are there try it out!

Unless you are afraid of white people. I know we can be pretty scary.

Thanks for the recommendation. If I ever make it back there I will be sure to try it out. I am about as white as it gets, but somehow I felt like I did not fit in. It is hard to explain.

Haha! I fit in with honkeys or any group, but I definitely don't like white people food very much. Burgers excepted.

I don't find La Jolla to be that white, it has lots of asians (because they are rich) and lots of tourists from all over the world. The people that live there are mostly white though. Because of these demographics, they have very low crime, safe place!

Replying to a sixteen year old thread with the last post eight years ago.

Yeah, it's a quite noticeable trend around here these days...

At least I didn't bump the thread just to smite people (also a fad a few days ago)

I bumped a bunch of old threads to get my post count up so I could smite people, sorry guys.  :'(

Well, I still think you guys are kind of kooky, I'm still 50/50 on the legislation signed/vetoed during Trump's presidency, and I have zero faith in the mostly RINO Republican party, but I have even less faith in the Jackasses, and watching people melt down last time when he got elected was entertaining.

Kind of kooky? They are really kooky.

I'm not a Trump fanboi. I dont want to bath in his ball sweat like others here do. MAGA is pretty much handing over the country to the progtards on a silver platter. MJT and Cucker Tarlson are effing retards. I was hoping there would be a better Republican candidate than Trump. Because he isnt going to win. But between Harris(Brandon) and Trump, voting for Trump is a "no-brainer", there really is no other option. I'm rooting for him partly because of how completely phucked up the effort to destroy him is. It really is a travesty. A very very dark time in our history.

The thing is, if you live in CA and you vote Trump, it wont make any difference. Trump votes in CA are a little red mouse fart in a blue hurricane.

Can we ban this TDS case? He is definitely a vaxxed biden voter.

La Jolla, lol. I have never seen so many white people in one town (in CA). It kinda freaked me out. Food was good though.

TDS and the jab go hand in hand. If someone has TDS you can make a safe bet that they are jabbed and wearing a mask while typing on calguns.

Any time something bad happens to a democrat voter it makes me happy.
