Welcome to the back up forum for Calguns.net!
The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for Calguns.net members to meet and hear updates during the coming server move and in case of outages on the main site.
With luck we'll have little use for this forum but it's nice to have a back up just in case! ;)

It is fast! I'm not sure if it's because of the new server, that there is very little data in the database being new or the software itself.
I actually like this forum software a lot.

A back-up / plan 'B' is always a wise thing to have. I enjoy the flow of new / current information.

I actually like this forum software a lot.
The hardware is rumored to be quite impressive indeed.
The spell check is a mod I added to the software along with the headers for the ads. This software is pretty easy to work with, I may consider switching when my vBulletin license expires.

Hrm, can we get the spell-check with vB?
Then again, this stuff seems to do the same thing that vB does, could be viable. People these days are so used to vB however. I am conflicted!

Its faster than when I first tried it but, I'm still firmly in the v.bulletin camp. Also, am I the only one with spell checking in v.bulletin? I must have added a plugin at some point. I don't like this spell checker because it highlights as I go, the one in v.bulletin only works when I click it, less distracting.

Ironically, I've been tied up with several other pursuits and have not even tried logging into Calguns over the past 4 or 5 days, but to see it down this long is quite odd. I don't think it's ever been down this long even since the old Ramon days. :o

Last update was 4 hours ago - In summary, transferring their backups to another server is taking exceedingly longer than they expected, due to people watching Netflix on thanksgiving causing the internet to slow down exponentially apparently.

From my experience these sort of things NEVER go as planned. I think your 5 days estimate is about right, BUT if it is not up today it will be Monday.
