I'd shoot nothing but that Browning (Miroku) 1892 but I'm not reloading yet and decent name-brand .44 mag is +/- .71 per rd. Might as well shoot milsurp X 51/.308 all the time, then.

Yugoslavian M67 is brass case and non-magnetic. this is why people call it "premium"

I suppose any non-magnetic should be considered *premium* here in drought-plagued California (we'll need 3 good winters' snowpack, not just one), even if it is Berdan-primed brass that is fundamentally un-reloadable.

I've some from the late '70s and some from the '90s... the '70s stuff has .310" dia bullets, the '90s stuff has .308". My CZ 527 Carbine (bolt gun) with it's .311" bore much prefers the former. And I can't reload it.

I'm not reloading anything yet, anyway, so this is all just idle chatter.

Of course not. I hope some time in the next 24 months to have to work some brutal overtime... then that Benelli M4 can come home. *swo0n*

Meanwhile, I get a kick out of the Texas way of doing things. Ever been to a Texas BBQ? Everyone wears their BBQ guns. Those are dress-up guns, you know, for parties. Open carry, sweet leather holsters, polished nickel and engraved 1911s w/ exotic grips, etc. Fancy stuff. Not my EDC style, but it's stuff like that that helps the world go round. Heehaw.

Like someone else noted, coffee's not the same.

Glad this place is here, though! fwiw.

off roster

In other news...

In the time it takes for a laZer shotgun or a laZer rifle to cook something, someone else that's quick (not me)  with return fire using a standard firearm could take the laZerboi out.

Why, thanke ye, friend. I remember that avatar of yours... it was delicious.

You know who's in P1 now, though... that LAKA900-- guy. Hahaha... sheeeeeee-itt.

In other news...

We had turkey leftovers tonight, and all of a sudden I've no interest in remaining vertical. Think I'll shove 10 rounds of .44 mag into a Model 1892, go to bed and watch The Rifleman reruns.

Glad the dot org is here, though. Back for coffee in the mornin'.

With luck we'll have little use for this forum but it's nice to have a back up just in case! ;)

Because two is one and one is none.

Big fan of pistol caliber carbines. I like them in lever guns.

I have a .357 Magnum Marlin 1894CS. a .357 Magnum Rossi 92 and a .44 Magnum Browning 92 - all great fun to shoot, and amazingly accurate, too... fairly flat trajectories to 125 yds.  I also have a little Henry H001M in .22 mag that's fun to shoot.

Shotguns / Remington 1100 done in Texas tactical
« on: November 27, 2015, 11:03:01 AM »

I found a nice, little-used Remington 1100 made in the early 1980s wearing a 22" smoothbore, rifle-sights slug barrel. A short time later I stumbled upon a you tube vid posted by a Texas 3-gun champ who used a wood-furniture 1100 against competition shouldering black, tactical shotguns. His only modifications were simple ones, supporting what is fundamentally a great semiauto design. I liked what I saw and decided to use most of his mods, except the side saddle, on mine. I'd rather try double-loading from a belt clip...

The changes I made are a combat bolt handle, a Dave's Metal Works "Easy Loader" (which requires a wee bit O' smithin' to install properly) and a Remington 2-shot magazine extension. I like to call it "Texas tactical". Yeehaw...

Since I too would like a shot at being immortalized but am mostly witless, I took consultation with an online thesaurus of synonyms... bear with me, here...
