That's really impressive for a lever gun.

I recently reacquired my old Marlin 336 CS in .30-30 Win (my first deer gun). Pushed it out to 400yd with very, very reliable consecutive hits on steel, using factory Hornady 160gr FTX LEVERevolution, and an old, cheap Bushnell Stalker scope with simple reticle. I thought that was pretty damn good performance for the caliber (considering I never contemplated or took a shot beyond 150 yards with it while actually hunting in thick Pennsylvania brush as a youngster, loading typical Remington Core-Lokt 170gr JSP and the like), but this is just on a whole other level. Shows what an exceptionally talented shooter can do with even a "short-range" caliber.
