Favorite food -
« on: October 19, 2008, 02:27:53 PM »
Well mine is all over the chart - Depends on the time/weather. However, I do have routine stuff - Menudo on Sundays mornings.

I do love Pho and probably can eat it everyday - Love those French Patecheaux that my mom would make.

What do you like?

I love all types of food my top favorite would have to be burritos....

I came back from a ten-day Japan business trip, I was going through Customs here in the USA on return.
The Custom's Agent asked me what I did in Japan.
I told him I ate a lot of wierd stuff.
He asked me where I was going.
I told him I wanted a hamburger and a burrito, so I am going to get food next.
I asked him if he was going to look in my luggage.
He said "No, you seem pretty hungry so you better get going!".
LOL

Got my Burger.
Got my Burrito.

I don't think I have ever been able to eat enough flour tortillas to fill me up.
I could probably eat fresh home-made (thick) flour tortiallas ALL DAY LONG and not get full enough to have to stop.

We get ours from Mi Rancho for the restaurant - Freshly made by them, not the same ones they sell to the market - Shelf life of only a week.

What kind of "Mexican" food Randall ::)

LOLQ :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D

I can't decide on my favorite, I love most foods.  I don'yt do Indian though and find most "WASP" food to be bland, uninspired and tasteless.

The American in me agrees, most "real Mexicans" seem to prefer corn, I don't.  Flour FTW

Bacon!  :o

Wait....I take that back!

Make that thick cut bacon, dipped in pancake batter, deep fried in the leftover oil from last night's deep fried turkey, and then topped with maple syrup. Yeah!

That's pretty much all that I do eat! Cheese, breads, pasta, white sauces. Nothing spicy, few vegetables. And everything must go with ranch dresssing!

You like kranch?  Ketchup and ranch together!

I am a fan of nuoc mam.  (you don't want to know)  Frijolito has been eating it for a long time and didn't know what is was until I told him!

Nuoc mam is concentrated -

As dipping sauce - It's always diluted and mix with sugar, water, vinegar.

pork!

I passed up homemade tamales today because they were made of pork.  I should have ate one, I'm sure the homemade ones I ate the day before of chicken had lard in the masa anyways.

I may eat some bacon today :o  Or some sort of eggrolls or wontons with pork.

A decent porkless breakfast or traditional cooked Mexican food or Chinese or Viet cuisine is hard to find sometimes.

I like lots of food, from burgers to chinese to sushi to mexican, but one thing I'll eat anyday, as much as I can - middle eastern food.

Luleh, Kebob, chicken, etc.

Its the healthiest thing you can eat - straight meat/veggies grilled over fire. MMM!

Ojisan knows what I mean, Sevan Chicken by his house is one place

If I could eat there 4 times a day, I would!!!

WASP food:

Beef roasted so long it falls from the bone and melts in your mouth. (Gotta have onions, salt + pepper in the juices spooned over it while it cooks).
Mashed potatoes made from real live whole potatoe(e)s right there in the kitchen.
Thick beef gravy over both the above.
Baby corn and peas and stuff like that on the side, with melted butter.
Garden salad w/ choice of dressings
Corn bread (OMG< CORN BREAD HOT FROM THE OVEN WARM AND SOFT!!!)

And the finale: (of course):
Chocolate Cake.

Then Bailey's and coffee....

Man am I hungry now....

Oji, I gotta agree with you on most of those.  Pot Roast with carrots, onions and potatoes is one of my favorites.  I really like the red potatoes mashed, sour cream and butter.

I'll kill a steak though.  Make about 4lbs of London Broil on the grill.  Either marinade with Stubbs, or season with Montreal Steak Seasoning.  The rarer the better.  And leftover the next day is the best.  I like to eat that super rare steak cold, the meat just melts in your mouth.

I do like some home made bread, preferably the sweet bread, and undercooked, too.  Nice and warm and doughy.

Most awesom drink evar, Irish Car Bombs.  Half a Guiness extra stout in a glass, drop in a shotglass of Bailey's and drink.  Next option would be Bud Light in the bottle.  Take a long pull, then top the bottle off with a shot of Bicardi Limon.

Desert, I can usually skip, but...  Rice Crispy treats with chocolate or butterscotch on top.  Or, jello with fruits and a Cream Cheese topping only my mom can make.  Lemon Merangue pie, key lime pie...

Now I'm flippin starving.  I wish I could find a Hawaiin barbecue that delivered...
