Handguns / Re: Reload 9mm aluminum case?
« on: November 28, 2015, 07:45:26 PM »
You can. You can event reload steel cases if you'd like, but I personally don't. My concern is overworking the aluminum.

I usually buy the steel/aluminum stuff if I know I wont be able to pick up the casings. There is always somewhere to get 9mm brass, so I don't worry about it too much. 10mm on the other hard...

50 is better than .45

Not sure what that has to do with reloading 9mm aluminum cases...

If i did it again, i would have bought a 10mm. Yes 10's are pretty cool.

The rule is no.
People have done it with mixed results.
9mm brass is really easy to find.
Why?

1) i have a bit... only 200 or so.

2) im cheap, and i hate to see good once fired cases go to waste. I paid for the ammo, darn it now i wanna reload it :)

3) reference above #2. Lol.

Just that i have a few 9 and .40 that i saved. No other real reason. Its once fired by me. Just wondered if anyone else was as resourceful as i tend to be.

thanks

General Gun Discussion / Re: Concrete anchors
« on: November 27, 2015, 05:25:49 PM »
Depends what you are fastening, and how many anchors you use. If a light fixture, probably fine. For something like a safe? I would rather use a expansion type anchor. The longer the better. 1/2" bolt size minimum.

O btw i am a plumber. We use anchors on almost daily basis. Another option is drop in type. The bad thing is you need a special tool to "set" the anchor.

Handguns / Reload 9mm aluminum case?
« on: November 27, 2015, 04:08:58 PM »
Hope this is the right section? didnt see a reloader section?

Per title,
Does anyone reload aluminum cases? I tried a few as a experiment. Very low load. Seemed to work fine. I just hate throwing out cases if they are still good.

Nra,
membership comes with 2500 coverage. More is about 1%. So do the math, 1% to cover loss of firearms, accessories, optics, ammo.
