its....idk just not as shocking with numbers.....percent tho looks better!  Like this:

Results:    The prevalence of type 2 diabetes was 1.8% (2/110) in 1996, and 11.0% (18/163) in 2002 (P = 0.008). Type 2 diabetes accounted for 12.5% (6/48) of incident cases of diabetes in the years 1997−1999, and 35.7% (10/28) of cases in the years 2000−2001, indicating a sharp rise in the incidence (P = 0.017) between the two periods. At diagnosis the mean age of the type 2 diabetes subjects was 15 years and the mean body mass index 34.6 kg/m2. Risk factors for cardiovascular disease were common in the subjects with type 2 diabetes: 85% had dyslipidaemia, 58% had increased albumin excretion rates and 28% had systolic hypertension.

Conclusions:   Obesity-related type 2 diabetes now accounts for a substantial proportion of newly recognized diabetes in the adolescent age group − and this proportion is escalating rapidly. Adverse cardiovascular risk factors are prevalent in this population. Public health measures to curtail the rise of obesity in childhood and adolescence are required urgently.

so my whole report was gonna be on reporting about the increase of childhood diabetes was a crisis partially brought on by video game consoles and soda.....having a hard time finding the "crisis" numbers....couple hundred thousand kids doesn't quite ring a bell as loud as a few million....

Probably true, kids rarely are outside playing these days it seems, rather do the Nintendo it seems or watch Spongebob.

I ate a crab cake Monday, it sucked.

it is true!  Its just the numbers and stats aren't as shocking....which is disapointing....big numbers look better on papers.....

Stop by and pick me up one day for some runs - It ought to be fun. Rode a long with some police friends a long time ago.

Howdy Shell - Hope all is well.

Tell me something - What would stop you guys for flipping on th lights to get "around" faster -

its HIGHLY dangerous!  plus code 3 driving saves an avg 15 seconds in time....thats it.  We still stop at every red light and stop sign until all traffic stops and pulls over.....ooo yea plus we have a camera mounted on our rigs that records if we hit the breaks too hard........although ambulances that do code 3 driving don't have the cameras, they would get set off toomuch....but supervisors follow them around randomly.

gimmie a year....I'll be a working medic by then and can take ya on a ride along provided its cool with my bosses....get to see the real deal.....as of now....you don't want to go for a ride with me....its not the same kind of ambulance work

one of my ultimate scary things is driving code 3 on a freeway to a call and actually hitting a motorcycle.....even worse....a CHP motorcycle!  (okay not worse, but its way different when they also wear a uniform....WAYY, cause you might know them)

Southbound 880 have been closed for over 3 hours now - Man, there are some pissed off folks out there.

Big ole gasoline tanker fire here on 880 - A mess out there.

I expect a really nice car to commute in for my hour plus drive to and from work everyday when we move to where we want to live.....oo wait, you already said i get it....okay nvm.

My commute is 45 min. right now....then 20 minutes at the station, starbucks, then hit the freeway again for work.....traffic isn't so bad when you are getting paid for it....
I'm so glad my commute is less then 2 miles...

I don't care how big he is. We as a TaN were quick to assault the thread, all of us went and posted over there. That is what made TaN look bad.

Speak for yourself.
I saw the train coming and jumped out of the way.

Sometimes it is blatantly obvious to some that no good will come from certain posts or threads and they chose not to participate....I wasn't there....but even just the title of the thread makes me think it would be one of those times....seems like nothing good came out of it after all

i have seen people do that, get  a very small plate put a little bit of wasabi sauce and pour alot of soy sauce get chop stix and mix it alot then dip the sushi ?

That's how you use wasabi properly.
Each person mixes his own so he can adjust it to how hot they like it.

sushi sounds soooo good right now!!!

-I'm not down with the wasabi tho....

....Have one friend who is pretty much gonna get a divorce.....

And you guys are causing WAY more DRAMA than all of those things!  (if you take out school and desperate housewives its COMBINED)
I got lots going on and don't wanna deal with this drama....

Flavors of Saigas are .223/7.62x39 and .308 - I don't have any and they are on my long list to get -

Would you wan to convert it over to pistol grip?

alright enough of the drama already

What do you guys think about the saiga rifles?
Originally I was thinking I wanted an sks but you can get the saigas in .308 right?

I like SKS's and Saiga's but I vote for an SKS first......dunno why other than it seems cooler to me and more choices on aftermarket stock colors......thats right, it all comes down to how good my gun looks for me :)

omigosh! My dad didnt think it was cute that I had to go around with a bald spot for a while. My brother and his friends did it on purpose. My brother at that time was 17  so my dad made him shave his legs and arms and head and go to school like that, he was made fun of but it was also his punishment, I think i would have just made him shave his head and eyebrows.
  +1 on the eye brows....
aww sad thought, a 13 year old girl from my home town and member of my parents church just found out her cancer is back and she is in tons of pain, plus she is maxed out on chemo and radiation.  No transplants for cancer patients either.  I just found out today.  We are really saddended by this.
Plus I had to learn how to work a SIDS baby and how to talk to parents if we pronounce on scene....tears at my heart!

Sometimes being in the know and medical field really blows

You guys never stop do you? Go to bed so friday will be here faster.

Shelly, I wish you were on earlier. We could have talked. I did give you some K though!

Thanks!  I'll return the love!  I'm CRAZY busy right now....got a final and a project outline both on thurs, plus prep for an OR clinical and practice airway stuff....its crazy right now for me!

oo and btw I have cleaned up puke plenty of times.....recently I used tape to hold a chicks hair into a bundle while she puked up anchovii pizza, vodka and soda....boy that smelled GREAT!  and she will lose some hair from the tape, but we kept most the puke out of it.

Thats gross.  I got duct tape in my hair thanks to my brother and his friends when I was a teenager, getting it out was not fun. i had a nice little bald spot for a while. My brother though, My dad shaved his head and his legs and arms for it. And he was grounded for a week.

I am SOO remembering that for my kids!  Knowing my man....they are gonna party worse than Dan did at his BBQ...his quote was "were gonna party like OJ at a white womens slasher party"...LOL Ill always remember that!

Seriously....Colin or Clive.....it had potential...

She is maybe bi.  She hangs out with Marcy a lot...

And I am trying to get "some tail" from a bi/les girl currently.

I checked work stuff, bad bad idea. Im actually drinking water, im feeling a little dehydrated, and I cant really drink unless I want to pump and dump. a beer or 2 wont hurt, but a white russian isnt good for the kiddos
Witness my sad story I mentioned on the tweaker breast feeding.  A real "whisky tit" while breastfeeding is a no no.

And who the heck eats anchovy pizza?

I think it was anchovy....or sausage of some kind....hard to tell with all the pink booze in there....

I like redheads..more carrottop the better.

And it's Lucy who takes the football.  I should know, a Peanuts character is tatted on my body.
